Yes I meant that. Arjun made Drupad a prisoner of war and presented him as gurudakshina to Drona. So Drona made Arjun his son in law so that he can use Arjun/ Pandavas against Drona.

Many showcases Draupadi as an unwanted child of Drupad,especially after Starplus MB.But she wasn't. Drupad performed Putrakameshti Yagya and both Draupadi and Dhrishtadyumna emerged from the sacrificial fire. I don't think there is any mention of him wanting only a son or anything. I am not sure though😕

Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni's "The palace of illusions" showcase Panchali as an unwanted child perhaps.

I did not mean that though. What I meant was that Drupad performed Putrakameshti Yagya because he wanted a son who would kill Drona ( though I am not sure). Gods blessed him with twins. " Your son will kill Drona and your daughter will be the cause of Kaurava's fear/doom".
