All legality aside,simply put : they don't want to. This has now become an issue of prestige and honor for BJP. If they backtrack even a little bit, their core base will lose face. Modiji ki izzat ka falooda ho jayega. So they are simply waiting it out. Also the protests turning violent and bigots from Muslim communities saying vile shit about killing Hindus is fueling their core base even more about how BJP has been right about Muslims all along. It's only widening the divide which they have always wanted.

Protests are an important part of democracy. Civil disobedience is one of the ways citizens participate in their government and make their displeasure known. So whining about how they are blocking roads or not following the laws doesn't mean anything. If you think a law is unjust, legality itself means nothing.

Gandhi himself participated in civil disobedience with tactics like the Salt March in which legal British laws were defied.

Politicians themselves had the onus on them first not to be hateful. Once they unleash that dam, you can't blame people when they respond in kind.

Honestly, I had no idea about what was going in Delhi until i came here n saw CC.

I was in contact with someone who went to hospital fr test n was taken by hospital into quarantine ward.

its been more than 24 hours and have not not seen anyone. only people who come in suit covered to keep food or take away plates etc..😳

So? Are people supposed to stop living their lives? The whole point of fighting for rights and trying to build a democracy is so that the people living in the country can have good lives. Art, music, movies, fun and most of all, peace of mind, is supposed to be the ultimate aim of living in a good country. There is no point to anything if you can't have that.

Majority of social media sympathizers are same. I don’t see em sincere at all. They are petty and selfish. And no ground level knowledge. Bas hava mein fear mongering karne mein phd.

So what does anti-CAA protesters want?

To abolish it completely or to include Muslims and Jews also in it?
