Maharaj Satyajeet had just disconnected the phone when the royal messenger came. “Maharaj, Kshitija se Diwan Vidyasagar Bhardwaj aayen hain Rampur ke rajparivar aur Rampur ki praja ke liye Maharaj Gajendra aur Maharani Bhagyashree ka sandesh le kar.” (Your Majesty, Kshitija’s Diwan Vidyasagar Bhardwaj has come bringing a message from Maharaj Gajendra and Maharani Bhagyashree for the royal family of Rampur as well as for the people of Rampur.)

“Aap unhein choti beithak mein beithaiye aur Diwan Bhuramalji se kahiye ki Diwan Vidyasagarji ki khaatirdaari mein koi kami naa ho. Hum abhi aate hain.” (Please make him wait in the informal living room. Please see that he is very well looked after. We will be there in sometime.) Maharaj Satyajeet gave order to the messenger.

“Ji Maharaj.” (Yes Your Majesty.) Once the royal messenger had left, Maharaj Satyajeet said to Rajmata (Queen Mother) Savitri Devi, “Maa-sa, kya mahetripoorn sandesh hoga?” (Mother, what will the important message be?)

“Hummein gyath nahi hai Satyajeet. Chalkar dekhte hain.” (I don’t know Satyajeet. Come lets go and meet Diwanji.) Rajmata Savitri Devi said logically. Maharaj Satyajeet left with Rajmata Savitri Devi and Maharani Sumitra for informal living room.

Location: Informal living room of Ramgarh Palace

Diwan Bhuramal Maheshwari (Ramgarh) had got a number of sweets, savouries, juices, soft drinks etc. for Diwan Vidyasagar but he politely refused to eat and drink anything. Diwan Vidyasagar had got along with him basket and baskets of fruits, sweets, savouries and gifts for royal family of Ramgarh as well as citizens of Ramgarh.

The messenger soon announced the arrival of royal family and Diwan Vidyasagar and Diwan Bhuramal rose to their feet as were the rules of royal protocol. Once the royal family was seated, Diwan Vidyasagar bowed low as was expected in front of royalty. “Virajiye Diwanji.” (Please be seated Diwanji.) Rajmata requested Diwan Vidyasagar to sit down but he politely declined. On been given permission Diwan Vidyasagar started his message, “Kshitija ke Maharaj Gajendra aur Maharani Bhagyashree, Ramgarh ki praja aur Ramgarh ke rajparivaar ko ek shubh sandesh dena chahtein hain.” (King and Queen of Kshitija want to give an auspicious message to the royal family of Rampur as well as for the people of Rampur.) Rajmata Savitri Devi and Maharaj Satyajeet nodded for Diwan Vidyasagar to continue. “Ramgarh ke Yuvraj, Madhav Rao, Kshitija ki Rajkumari, Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari ke “Swayamvar” ke vijayeta hain. Iss liye Maharaj Gajendra karbadh (folded hands) ho kar aapse vinamr viniti karte hain ki Ramgarh ka rajparivaar Kshitija padharein. Kyunki Yuvraj Madhav Rao evam Rajkumari Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari ki “jaimaal” rasam aaj saaiyen kaal saath baje (07:00p.m.) honewali hai aur usmein aap sabka samilith hona avashiyak hai.” (The Crown Prince of Ramgarh, Yuvraj Madhav Rao has won the “Swayamvar” of Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi. Hence, Maharaj Gajendra with folded hands humbly requests the pleasure of company of the royal family of Rampur at Kshitija in the evening at 07:00p.m. when Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari’s “jaimaal” ceremony takes place.)

Although Rudra had already told his grandmother and parents the news of Maan winning the ‘Swayamvar’ but it finally sunk in to all three when they were officially told by Diwan Vidyasagar Bhardwaj. Therefore smile graced lips of all three elders as Rajkumar Arjun and Rajkumar Abhimanyu were not in Ramgarh. Rajmata Savitri Devi stood up and said regally, “Diwanji, aapka bahut-bahut dhaniyavaad ki aapne hummein yeh shubh samachaar diya. Kintu itne sheegrata se humara Kshitija aana sambhav nahi hai. Hum kuch diwas pashchaat ek shubh muhurath dekh kar Yuvraj Madhav Rao aur Rajkumari Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari ki “sagai” ke liye aayenge. Aap Maharaj Gajendra aur Maharani Bhagyashree ko humara yeh sandesh de dijiyega.” (Diwanji, our heartfelt thanks to you for telling us this good and auspicious news! But its impossible for the royal family of Rampur to arrive in Kshitija so quickly. After few days seeing an auspicious date the royal family of Rampur will come to Kshitija for Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari’s “engagement” ceremony. Please give our this message to Maharaj Gajendra and Maharani Bhagyashree.)

Rajmata Savitri Devi whispered something to Maharani Sumitra. Rajmata and Maharaj Satyajeet insisted that Diwan Vidyasagar should have some refreshment but he politely declined, “Rajmata, humari dhirishta kshama kijiye. Kintu abb Ramgarh, Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ka sasural hai iss liye hum yahaan ka paani bhi pee nahi sakte.” (Queen Mother, please forgive me for my impertinence. But now Ramgarh is Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s in-law’s home, therefore I can’t even drink water here.) Then Diwan Vidyasagar suddenly remembered something. “Rajmata, Maharani Bhagyashree ne Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ki janampatri bheji hai.” (Queen Mother, Queen (Maharani) Bhagyashree has sent Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi’s horoscope.) Diwan Vidyasagar handed over the scroll to Rajmata. Just then Maharani Sumitra entered the informal living room followed by maids and servants carrying basket and baskets of fruits, sweets, savouries and gifts for royal family of Kshitija as well as citizens of Kshitija.

Maharani Sumitra handed two blue velvet boxes and a packet.

“Diwanji, yeh tofe Rajsinghania parivaar ki taraf se hain apni bahu ke liye. Rajkumari Rajlakshmi se kehiyega ki yeh saree aur zevar (jewellery) unhei “sagai” wale din pehani hai.” (Diwanji, these gifts are from Rajsinghania family for their daughter-in-law. Please request Rajkumari Rajlakshmi to wear this jewellery and saree for the engagement ceremony.)

“Ji Maharaniji.” (Yes Your Majesty.) Diwan Vidyasagar paid his respects; carefully took the two blue velvet boxes and a packet. While maids and servants were carrying baskets of fruits, sweets and gifts towards the limousine car in which Diwan Vidyasagar had come.

An hour later, Rajmata (Queen Mother) Savitri Devi, Maharaj Satyajeet and Maharani Sumitra were sitting with Rajpurohit (4 Princes’ Gurudev) Girija Shankar Pandey. “Rajmata aur Maharaj, Yuvraj Madhav Rao evam Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ki kundaliyaan meil khaati. Chatees (36) ke Chatees (36) gunn miltein hain. Lagta hai Narayan aur Mahalakshmi ki jodi hai.” (Your Majesties, Crown Prince (Yuvraj) Madhav Rao and Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi’s horoscope matches. All thirty six (36) qualities of both match. Looks like they are Lord Narayan and Goddess Mahalakshmi’s horoscope.) Bringing about immense happiness on the faces of three elders. “Kintu......” (But.....) Saying this Rajpurohit stopped.

“Kintu kya Gurudev? Yuvraj ka swathiye toh sahi hoga? Unki aayu toh lambi hogi?” (But what Gurudev? Will Crown Prince’s health remain alright? Will he have long life?) Maharaj Satyajeet questioned getting agitated.

“Maharaj aap shaant ho jaayiye! Yuvraj ko kuch nahi hoga kyunki unka ‘surakshakavach’ (protection shield) unki bhaavi patni hain arthaat Rajkumari Rajlakshmi hain.” (Calm down Your Majesty! Nothing will happen to Crown Prince as long as his protection shield (‘surakshakavach’) that is his future wife, Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi is with him.) Rajpurohit said relaxing all the three elders. Gurudev Girija Shankar peered both the horoscopes further and said, “Parantu Yuvraj aur Rajkumari ke bhagya mein viyog hai. Ek baar nahi do baar.” (Unfortunately, in the future lives of Crown Prince and Princess there will be seperation. Not once but twice.)

“Kaisa vijog aur kab hoga vijog?” (What kind of seperation and when will the seperation be?) Maharani Sumitra asked perturbed.

“Maharaniji, abhi grahon ki disha spashth (clear) nahi hai iss liye hum kuch bhi vishwas se nahi keh saktein hain. Ho sakta hai ki kuch maah poorv grahon ki disha badal jaaye aur Yuvraj Madhav Rao evam Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ke jeevan mein koi viyog naa hi ho.” (Your Majesty, as the position of planets is not very clear right now, I can’t say with certainity. Maybe later the planet’s position changes and there will be no seperation in Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s life.) Gurudev Girija Shankar evaded the question seeing the three elder family members were getting restless, agitated, fearful and insecure. “Kintu ek baat mein koi do rai nahi hai aur woh hai Rajkumar Yudhjeet. Rajsinghania parivaar ka agar kabhi bhi koi bhi anhitt hua toh uske karan kewal aur kewal Rajkumar Yudhjeet hi honge.” (However in one area there is no doubt and that is Prince (Rajkumar) Yudhjeet. If ever any inauspicious thing happens in Rajsinghania family will be due to one and only one person and that is Prince (Rajkumar) Yudhjeet.) Making Rajmata, Maharaj and Maharani go in deep thought. Gurudev Girija Shankar dragged them from their thoughts saying, “Do diwas poorv bahut shubh diwas hai Yuvraj Madhav Rao evam Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ki sagai ke liye. Aur uske ek maah poorv vivaah ke liye ati shubh muhurth hai.” (Two days from today is ideal time for Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s engagement. And a month later it very auspicious for their marriage.)

Great part. So finally the news about maan winning swyamwar reached to his palace. Everyone is happy. Even they matched maneet's horoscopes which was perfect. But there is separation in future but I am sure it would bring them more closer. Waiting for next dear

Location: Rang Mahal on outskirts of Palace of Ramgarh

Two men were drinking and discussing.

The man in his mid forties said, “Rajk......mera matlab hai Maharaj Yudhjeet, Yuvraj Madhav Rao ko Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ke Swayamvar ka vijayeta ghoshit kiya hai.” (Prin.....I mean King Yudhjeet, Crown Prince (Yuvraj) Madhav Rao has been announced as the winner of Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi’s Swayamvar.)

“Tejawat, Madhav Rao ko vijayeta hone do. Kintu Rampur ke Maharaj toh hum hi bannege. Tum bass yeh intezam karo ki Madhav Rao ko jald se jald Ramgarh se desh nikala de diya jaaye.” (Tejawat, let Madhav Rao be the winner. But King of Rampur only I’ll be. You find a way of chucking Crown Prince (Yuvraj) Madhav Rao from Ramgarh Palace as well as from Ramgarh.) A sixty year old ruthless Prince Yudhjeet answered.

“Parantu, Maharaj...........” (But Your Majesty.........)

Just then a royal messenger interrupted, “Rajkumar-sa, Rajmata aapko rajmahal bula raheen hain kyunki Rajkumar Arjun Rao aur Rajkumar Abhimanyu apni Nanihaal se padharein hain.” (Prince Yudhjeet, Queen Mother has summoned you to the Palace as Prince (Rajkumar) Arjun Rao and Prince (Rajkumar) Abhimanyu have returned from their maternal grandparent’s palace.)

“Hum aate hain.” (I am coming.)

“Ji Hukum.” (Yes Your Highness.)

Location: Rajya Sabh in Palace of Kshitija at 06:30p.m.

The Rajya Sabha was full there was no place for sitting or walking even in the aisles. The royalty were yet to be seated in the centre of Rajya Sabha whereas the citizens of Kshitija were already seated around on benches a little distance away which were placed on a higher level so everyone can see. Slowly the participating Kings, Crown Princes and Princes arrived dressed in their wedding finery which was oozing of wealth and their royal stature. Few of the royalty had already gone back to their Palaces due ill health i.e. Vijaygarh’s Maharaj Gangadhar; due to family emergency i.e. Prince Devdutt of Vallabhgarh as well as few Princes who had given very poor performance and there was no chance of their winning i.e. Crown Prince of Nandigram (FICTITIOUS NAME) etc. When swayamvar had started there were a total of 14 contestants but now there were only 8 present including Yuvraj Madhav Rao.

Once the royalty were seated, Rajkumari Rajlakshmi arrived in Rajya Sabha surrounded by her sisters and ladies in waiting. She was looking extremely beautiful which none of the participating Kings, Crown Princes and Princes could see due to the long distance from where they were seated as well as Princess’ face was covered in a long ghunghat.

However Yuvraj Madhav Rao could sense Princess Rajlakshmi’s uneasiness. After doing Pranam to the gathered audience she sat diagonally behind her father’s throne like chair being slightly visible.

Once Maharaj Gajendra became aware of his daughter’s presence he stood up and addressed the gathered audience, “Hum, Maharaj Gajendra aur Maharani Bhagyashree, aap sab Raja, Maharaja, Yuvraj evam Rajkumaron ka karbadh (folded hands) ho kar dhaniyavaad karte hain. Aap sab apne mehetrapoorn karye chodh kar Kshitija padhare Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ke swayamvar mein.......” (We, King (Maharaj) and Queen (Maharani) of Kshitija thank with folded hands all the invited Kings, Crown Princes and Princes for taking out sometime from their busy schedule to attend Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi’s Swayamvar.......)

Rajkumari Rajlakshmi (Geet) was not paying much attention to her father’s speech as she was in misery and deep pain of not being able to see her love after today. While getting dressed for Rajya Sabha, Kumud, Paro and Priya’s nonsensical banter also could not make Rajlakshmi come out of her dejected state.

“Aap sabka pradarshan sarvoch thaa kintu vijayeta toh kewal ek hi ho sakta hai. Vijayeta woh hain jo teeno pratispradha arthaat gupta kamra naqsha ke dwara dhoondhna, talwaarbaazi aur pistaulbaazi mein jeetein hain aur woh hain.......” (The performance of all of you was were exceptional but the winner can only be one. The winner is one who could pass all the three test i.e. finding the secret room with help of a map; winner in sword fighting and winner in pistol shooting. The winner of all the three tests is..........)

“Didi, didi, Pitaji jeejaji ka naam ghoshit karnewale hain.” (Didi, didi, father is going to announce the name of the winner.) Excited Priya shook Geet to get her out of her depressed and dejected state.

“AUR WOH HAIN “YUVRAJ MADHAV RAO RAJSINGHANIA”, RAMGARH KE YUVRAJ.” (AND HE IS “YUVRAJ MADHAV RAO RAJSINGHANIA”, the CROWN PRINCE OFRAMGARH.)

Hearing the announcement Rajkumari Rajlakshmi stood up from her seat due to shock and excitement of her unattainable wish coming true. But as she was semi hidden behind her father’s throne like chair no one noticed her reaction except a pair of warm chocolate brown eyes. Rajkumari Rajlakshmi (Geet)’s happiness was flowing like a flood in form of tears from her eyes and she hugged in extreme happiness Priyamvada standing next to her. Maan who until now was insecure about his beloved’s reaction and feelings for him had no longer any doubts about her affection. The whole Rajya Sabha was still thundering with applause. When applause by the citizens of Kshitija refuse to stop, Maharaj Gajendra raised his hand thereby quietening the audience. “Abb Rajkumari Rajlakshmi Geeteshwari Ranawat, Yuvraj Madhav Rao Rajsinghania ke gale mein “vijay mala” dal kar Yuvraj ko apna pati evam sehbhaagi apnayengi.” (Now, Princess (Rajkumari) Rajlakshmi will put victory garland (“vijay mala”) around Crown Prince (Yuvraj) Madhav Rao and accept him as her husband as well as a life partner.)

Rajkumari Rajlakshmi surrounded by her sisters walked towards a raised stage (all the citizens of Kshitija could see) and so did Yuvraj Madhav Rao (Maan) surrounded by Rudra, Bhim Singh, Diwan Vidyasagar and Munshi Shambhu Nath walked up to the stage. Rudra started doing a video recording to show his grandmother and his parents. Rajkumari Rajlakshmi (Geet) shyly put “vijay mala” around Yuvraj Madhav Rao’s neck and there was again loud applause.

Princess Priyamvada came near Maan carrying in a thaal another mala which Yuvraj put around Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s neck thereby completing Maan and Geet’s “jaimaal”

followed by blowing of conch (shank),

beating of drums (dhol) and thunderous applause. All the seven (7) contestants displayed good sportsmanship and applauded without causing unpleasantness. “Raj, aap jawai-sa ko apna mukh dekha sakteen hain kintu kewal jawai-sa ko aur kissi ko nahi.” (Raj, you can now show your face to Crown Prince Madhav Rao but only to Yuvraj and no one else.) Maharani Bhagyashree said. Maharani requested Rudra to switch off the camera. Rudra along with Bhim Singh, Diwan Vidyasagar and Munshi Shambhu Nath left the stage.

Rajkumari Rajlakshmi shyly lifted her veil (ghunghat) and Yuvraj Madhav Rao was mesmerised.

Today her beauty was glowing making Maan fall in love once again with her.

However, the Princess was too shy to look in eyes of her future husband until Maharani Bhagyashree said, “Raj, jawai-sa ki ore shubh drishti daaliye.” (Raj, give the auspicious look to our son-in-law.) Rajkumari Rajlakshmi shyly raised her hazel almond ones (eyes) to meet Yuvraj Madhav Rao’s chocolate brown ones (eyes)!

Yuvraj and Rajkumari were unable to break the gaze from one another eyes. Hence, finally Maharani Bhagyashree had to pull Princess Rajlakshmi’s ghunghat down. Then Maharani turned Rajkumari Rajlakshmi and Yuvraj Madhav Rao towards people of Kshitija and once again the Rajya Sabha thundered with applause. Rajkumari Rajlakshmi was feeling slightly dizzy and weak but she tried to ignore it.

However, Maan could sense something is not right with his beloved but he could not ask her in front of so many people due to “rajsi maryada”. Maharaj Gajendra raised his hand again thereby quietening the audience. “Yuvraj Madhav Rao evam Rajkumari Rajlakshmi ka vivaah ek maah poorv hoga. Sahi tithi hum aapko Ramgarh Rajparivaar se pooch kar battayenge. Aap sabko aana hoga apni ladli Rajkumari-sa ko “suhaagan” banne dekhne aur unhein apna aashirwaad dene. Abb “Swayamvar Samaroh” yaheen samapt hota hai. Kshitija ke atithiyon ko Kshitija ka Pranam.” (Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi’s wedding will be held in a month’s time. Exact date will be inform to you all after talking to Ramgarh’s royal family. We will request all citizen to attend the wedding and see your favourite Princess dressed as a bride. Please come to bless the newly weds on their wedding! Now Swayamvar’s function is over. Kshitija thanks all of its guests. Goodnight!) Thereby Maharaj Gajendra officially concluded the Swayamvar ceremony.

As the stage was small, people had to exit one at a time. First ladies in waiting exited, then Maharani, then Kumud, Paro and Priya. Yuvraj Madhav Rao and Rajkumari Rajlakshmi were last to exit. When Princess Rajlakshmi was about to step down her whole head swam and she swayed but Yuvraj Madhav Rao (Maan) caught her just in time as she became unconscious bringing gasp from ladies of Ranawat family. Yuvraj Madhav Rao carried Rajkumari Rajlakshmi in his arms from the stage.

Seeing Rajkumari Rajlakshmi being carried away there was a gasp from remaining audience who were still present in Rajya Sabha. Now Yuvraj Madhav Rao was not bother about who says what because he has a right on Princess Rajlakshmi as she is his fiancee if not wife!
