I also remember there were talks about Arjun being very interested in the film (and almost certain to be a part of it) and something about writing the story such that he needn't share screen space with Sridevi. How times have changed. I don't see anyone except Janhvi from the Kapoor family being part of it.

Lol, no way Anil wants this film for Harsh now (even if he might have years ago). This is a full-on commercial entertainer and Harsh has an aversion to song-and-dance routines. It is also stupid of him to expect that Sonam would have gotten the role when Janhvi is there. When it comes to finances or propping careers up, he hasn't done anything for Sanjay, Boney or his nephews. So it would be a bit rich of him to expect profit sharing.

This seems to be a case of Boney not bothering to tell anyone in his family (or anyone not part of the reboot) about Mr.India reboot finally taking off.

Normally I would say Sonam is being silly by tweeting something like this and bringing out the family feud in the open, but if the rest of her family is doing the same thing, this is not some impulsive tweet. Everyone know what they are doing.

But if he didn't want roles for himself or his kids, there is no real reason for him to be upset. Some people don't want a remake being done at all and if he felt like that, it would be understandable but that's not the case. He has talked about how it can be remade keeping the legacy in mind.

Maybe Anil genuinely thought it would be a sequel and not a reboot and that he could continue on as Mr. India and that they would bring on a younger star for another new role that would be alongside his.

In emotional terms, I can understand how he's feeling. It was his big movie and it would hurt to see it go to others. If he or his kids were still part of it, he would have been fine but letting his legacy go to others has got to be painful.

I think more than eyeing on roles for her family - she is upset for her dad not being informed as a courtesy and AK might have been genuinely hurt about it. Sentimental connection perhaps.

I buy this theory more than the theory that they wanted a role in this movie , and that’s why the SM posts.
Don’t think they care for roles that much IMHO.
There is absolutely no guarantee of any movie - millennials do not know about old Mr. India movie at all and story wise it was not that great.

But how many actors are asked when remakes are made? Maybe during the remaking process, they would have approached him for input but instead of showing anger at her own family member who out of courtesy to Anil saving his constantly in debt self, its easier to attack Ali

She has conveniently avoided tagging her uncle but freely attacked Ali. Dum hai toh say that Boney is an ass who only cares about himself but no in a few weeks they will put up photos of themselves at brunch and weddings once the ego bruise heals.

Dont care about Sonam or her rants .. But speaking of Mr.India , it always baffles me how Sridevi managed to turn a typical female flowerpot role in a male superhero film into an iconic role .. The movie should have been about Amrish Puri and Anil Kapoor but it turned out to be about Amrish Puri and Sridevi .. Anil Kapoor was reduced to a supporting character even though the movie was named after his character .. Such is the magic of legendary Sridevi .. ⭐️
