Sophie is and was more famous in west. PC however is famous in India and setting her fame in west.

Now it might seem like Jonas bros could have managed to get revival without PC... but in reality she played linchpin there. However, west would love Jonas over PC anyday and so will be some Indians.

Some Chinese stars are more famous, just like Priyanka is more famous than Sophie. No one is saying they need it but it’s certainly helped the Jonas Brothers, they’ve acknowledged the millions of new fans because Nick’s “National Jiju” now.
