Chapter 90
Arnav stood up and took a small step towards her. She raised her eyebrow. He slowly leaned his head towards her ear. He grinned and whispered in his husky voice,
Arnav: I want.... you ...
Khushis eyes widened. She stopped breathing for a second and stood still as a statue.
Arnav: I said I wouldnt touch you, but there was nothing about flirting with you.
He moved his head back, picked up his sandwich and and cup of chai and went to his room.
Khushi needed a few moments just to gather self.
Khushi needed to freshen up. It had been days since Aranv even flirted with her or even came close to her. She smiled, sucked in her bottom lip, and went to her room. She took out her new diary and her payal that Arnav gave her they day the returned back to the University. She got a pen and started to write.
“Raaton ko neend ati nahin,
Din main sapnay daikhnay lagin hoon,
Teri yaad hai kay jati nahin,
Har waqt tera hi intizaar kar thi reh thi hoon.”
She smiled, put her payal in the book, then put it on the night table. Khushi layed down on her bed, she wasnt able to study after hearing arnav say that he just wanted her.
After a little while she heard a knock on the door.
Arnav: Khushi,I told Nadia that she can come from whenever she wants.
Since Arnav didnt hear any reply, he hesitantly opened the door and slowly peeked his head in. He smiled once he saw her. He was about to close the door and walk out, but he just stood there. Mesmerized by her innocence and beauty. He slowly walked in and sat down beside her onher bed. He knew he should not have been there, but he just couldnt help it. His heart and mind were not working together anymore. He gently raised his hand to move the one strand of hair on her face. He very delicately slid it off her face and behind her ear. She smiled as he touched her. He smiled that even though she was sleeping, she always reacted and smiled to his touch. He was about to get up and go when he saw her payal dangling out of a book. He looked at it questioningly. Then turned around to look at her again. He had forgotten that he gave her the payal back. He had been meaning to ask for it back, but wasnt able to. He didnt know how toask her for it. He picked up the book and opened it. He held the payal in one hand and the open book in the other hand. He was shocked to see her keep a diary. He smiled, he wanted to put it away, but stopped when he saw her shairi. He read it and sighed. “I love you too” he softly whispered. He was curious about the other stuff that she might have written about him in her book. He was shocked as to why khushi was persistant on him not touching her. His smiled disappeared. His eyebrows furrowed.. He looked at her. He then read the entire passage about her wanting to realize his rights over her, and especially over her body. He was confused. He thought that khushi didnt want to come too close to him. He gently placed the payal back into her diary and put the diary back in the same place he found it. He left for a walk. He needed to think as to what he should and or should not do. He couldnt talk to anyone about this. Because no one knew the condition for living together between them expect for them. He sighed and smiled. He slowly made his way back to the dorm. He came in and saw khushi quickly cooking in the kitchen. She was changed into her shalwar suit and wore her duppata. He looked around and noticed the entire place spotlessly clean. She was preparing for their guest. His friend. She looked at him and they both just smiled. He just closed the door shut, but forgot tolock it.
Khushi: Voh aranv, when is your friend coming. I need to get dinner ready. Will she be going us?
Arnav: I think so. I dont know. I did tell her, lets see when she comes.
Khushi continued to cook and finish her work. He placed the dorm keys on the table and slowly went up to her. She looked over her shoulder and smiled as she saw him walking close.
She turned her head back to face the stove.
Khushi: I didnt know what your friend would like, so I asked Mom. Trying her new recipe today. I hope that is ok.
Arnav stood behind her. He leaned over her shoulder, held onto her waist, closed his eyes and smelled the aroma. She was shocked, was Aranv actually touching her. Was he actually holding on to her waist. Her eyes were left wide open. He opened his eyes and rested his chin on her shoulder. She smiled and turned her head towards him. He slowly slid his arms around her and hugged her.
Arnav: Smells amazing. I dont think it will be enough.
She giggled. Khushi turned her head forward again and shook her head.
Khushi: Acha. Thank you for the lie. Heheh..
Arnav: no seriously.
They both just laughed. Arnav sighed and moved his head a bit up and brought his lips to her shoulder. He tried to kiss her, but noticed her duppata there. He put his head back up and turned his head towards khushis ear.
Arnav: Khushi, kya tumhay mere samnay yeh duppata pehnay ki zarorat hai?
Khushi gulped and licked her lips. Now she was doomed, not him.
He moved his head back and brought his right hand up. He brought it up to her shoulder and gently brought his hand towards her neck. He gently touched the tip of his fingers on her neck, just a little above her duppata. She closed her eyes and her chest sank. He smiled. He slowly grabbed her duppata and started to pull it away. She closed her eyes more tightly. She sucked her lips in and held her breath. Inch by Inch, he slowly pulled her duppata. He started to turn twist his wrist to wrap her duppata around his hand. She looked down. She was nervous, what was he up to. He changed all of a sudden. Once her entire dupata was wrapped around his hand, then he brought his hand down and slowly leaned his head down and placed a gentle kiss on her shoulder. She gasped for air. He was about to go more in and make his way to her neck. Someone knocked on the door, but they didnt notice. They were lost in themselves. The person turned the door knob and opened the door.
Minta: Wooow..So sorry.
Minta turned around and looked the other way. Aranv immediatly moved back. And khushi held her breath. She brought her hand up and covered her chest. He stood infront of her and passed her the dupata. She took it. He cleared his throat and looked at minta with a raised eyebrow.
Arnav: You always have the worst timings, dont you. Khushi looked down, she was red in embarresment. She tried to look busy with cooking. Minta turned her head around and went back outside, pushing some people back.
Aranv sighed and looked at khushi.
Arnav: our dearest friends, who always manage to have the best timing, are outside.
Khushi giggled. Nadia walked up to their dorm and met tom outside. She just saw him smile, said hi and made sure this was arnavs new dorm.
Aranv went to the door and opened it and moved out of the way. Minta, Tom and Nadia came in.
Tom looked at aranv and chuckled. Arnav looked at him with a raised eyebrow.
Arnav: Thanks man, remind me to return the favour one day.
Tom put his hand on Arnav shoulder, shook his head and laughed. Minta kept her hands on her mouth, trying to keep her laughter in. While Nadia was a bit confused as to why they were all laughing.
Nadia: What is going on?
Arnav: Nothing,just that I realized how greatful I am for such wonderful friends like Tom and Minta.
He kept a straight face. Minta and Tom burst out laughing. They all went and sat down on the sofa. Khushi just finished up, washed her hands and walked over. She felt a bit embarresed because of the entire situation, but tried to keep her blushing down to a minimum. She went and stood beside Minta. Minta flung her arm around Khushi shoulder and whispered into her ear,
Minta: Sorry, I know that you two are not ... physically close. Let me guess, you were discussing an upcoming exam or project. Right.
Khushi sucked in her lips and looked at minta with widened eyes.
Khushi: Stop it. Please..
She looked down,smiled and looked towards arnavs. They both just sighed and smiled.
Nadia: Thanks again arnav. Is this your dorm mate?
Nadia put her hand infront of khushi to shake it. Khushi smiled and shook her hand.
Dorm mate? why did she say dorm mate and not fiancee? khushi was a bit confused by politely replied.
Khushi: Hi, I am Khushi.
Nadia: Khushi,as in happiness?
Khushi smiled and nodded.
They all made their way to the living room.
Khushi: Just give me a couple of mintas, dinner is almost ready.
Aranv: Let me help.
Khushi smiled and shook her head. She blinked reassuringly.
Khushi: Its ok. Not much left. Dont worry.
Aranv went and sat down. Nadia, as per her habit went and sat down right beside Arnav. Within close proximity. Arnav didnt really care or make much of it. Minta on the other hand noticed and looked at her with wide eyes. Khushi turned around, looked at them, and was shocked. Why was Aranv so calm with another girl that close. She wasnt jealous,mainly because she knew that Aranv was only hers. But what did start to bother her was that now Arnav was not single anymore. Before if some other female would have done that, Khushi would have felt bad.This time, he is engaged to her. He is not single anymore, why is he not maintaining that distance. Why does someone else feel like they can approach him.
Khushi turned around and sighed. She tried to calm her mind down and quickly setup the table.
Tom, Arnav and Nadia were just talking about the past few years that they spent together at the University. Minta looked at khushi, she knew khushi was hurt. She went over to her friend to help her out. She started to whisper to her.
Minta: you ok?
Khushi just nodded her head and continued to work. She looked at minta and smiled. Minta seemed concerned for Khushi. Khushi sighed and whispered.
Khushi: I trust him. I know him. And most importantly, I love him. Dont worry. Hmm.
Minta sighed and helped khushi finish. Minta went and called everyone over for dinner. Everyone got their plates and went back to the sofas to sit down.
Tom: Man khushi,you are an amazing cook. Please, please, help out your friend here.
Khushi smiled and said thanks. She looked at minta, while minta looked annoyed.
Minta: no, how about you give your recipes over to Tom. He will be doing most of the cooking.
Everyone laughed. Khushi remained mostly silent. She quietly ate and would only look up from time to time. Arnav noticed this, but didnt say anything. He looked at her and gestured to ask her what happened. She smiled and politely shook her head. He looked at her with a raised eyebrow. She quietly said she was just tired. He smiled. Of course, she had been working all day, studying, cooking and what not. He knew how to cheer her up. He hand an idea. The best way to make your girl feel refreshed, or take away her fatigue is to make her feel special. That was it. Simple as that. Everyone had finished eating, and was putting their plates away.
Khushi: Coffee or tea anyone.
Everyone smiled and nodded. Khushi turned around and went towards the kitchen.
Arnav: khushi.
She turned around and looked at him. He had his arm around the back rest of the sofa. He looked at him and smiled. With his hand that was on the head of the sofa he made a fist and pointed just one finger out. She smiled and shook her head. Bit her bottom lip and turned back around.
Nadia: what was that? What is that suppose to mean?
Minta tom, and arnav started to laugh.
Minta: You will see. Just wait and watch.
Nadia looked at them with furrowed eyebrows. What was going on?
Precap: aaahhh. Khushi says something, or does something, or.. wait.. allows for something.. or.. no.. cant tell :P
