Or perhaps if Mirza Ghalib were here, he would say-

qafas udaas hai yaaro sabā se kuchh to kaho

Thank you <3

I loved the first chapter. Very interesting. You joined IF to post this story!

I have a feeling you are not new to writing. Are you an old writer who lost your credentials or are you a writer who wrote on a different platform?

I am just curious.

Your writing style and the plot of the story piqued my interest and I will be with you in this journey.

My knowledge in poetry is zero.

But I will try to read all the poetry flowing between you three.

Cheers.......

And this was a trivia that I was unaware of. Beautiful. Reminds me of how Ghalib had agreed to trade his entire diwan in exchange for one sher of Momin Khan Momin -

tum mire paas hote ho goyā

jab koī dūsrā nahīñ hotā

How lovely the coincidence that you should quote gulon mein rang bhare at the same moment that I picked a sher from it to reply to @Arshi67. It is a beautiful, beautiful ghazal. Reminded me of another sher from the very same piece-

jo ham pe guzrī so guzrī magar shab-e-hijrāñ

hamāre ashk tirī āqibat sañvār chale

Okay I’m going to have a corny moment and just say waah waah!!

If I was born in that era, I think I would probably end up selling my organs (after obviously trading all my material possessions) every time someone came up with something so beautiful.

And this one is applicable for everyone who’s trying to get over their heartache while trying to make a living,

duniyā ne terī yaad se begāna kar diyā

tujh se bhī dil-fareb haiñ ġham rozgār ke

I know what you mean. It's an exhilarating mixture of resignation, disillusionment, and heartbreak.

Well, you just articulated everything so beautifully!!

Zahe-naseeb! Shukriya!

And for you, and your delightful presence on this thread-

And I am going to reply to that with an equally corny "Aadab, aadab!"

The sher you quoted hit me somewhere right in the gut. "tujh se bhī dil-fareb haiñ ġham rozgār ke"- Sigh! If that ain't the bitter pill of truth!

Begangi toh apni jagah hai, par ye bhi irshad hai ke-

I agree, Raji! I also wondered if this could be one of the veteran writers. I have a teeny tiny shaq, who it could be 😁

Shaurya Singh Raizada and Nandini Singh Raizada 😊
