My imagination goes:

Prachi gets to know about the bet,loses trust. Ranbir-rhea engagement fixed or not fixed whatever. Prachi about to marry someone else and Ranbir,with everyone else's permission kidnaps her and marries her or sits in the place of her groom

Yeah because karan since before falling for preeta was always shown as impulsive, short-tempered and egotistic, but ranbir has always been shown as jolly, non-judgemental and sensitive to other's emotions. Ranbir has never been shown as an angry young man type like abhi and karan.

I guess vikram was easier to convince just because abhi too showed trust in prachi as well as ranbir, but pallavi I have a feeling will take some time but hope they don't show her angry at prachi anymore.
