Maybe rishi friend told him about maya... And then when rudra go to confront maya that time he hear maya and rajeev talk... And that time rudra realise maya is after mj.... So he played maya game... Make her think that she is in control of this game ....

After one point mj Or maya will have a break down seeing rudra blind trust .. They themselves might confess every thing...

Yo! The fish and fishy story set the tone for the Rudra-Maya dynamic. Rudra has an insanity for Maya and it comes out when triggered. It does seem foreboding that he will stand first in the line of fire before any harm comes to Maya.
