Chapter 84
Arnav smiled. He forgot that he loved her for who she was. Her beliefs are what made khushi, khushi. And it is khushi that he fell in love with.
He moved his head back and loosened his grip on her. She raised her head and looked at him. He slowly opened his eyes and met hers.
Arnav: I can understand if you dont want to go further with this moving thing. I will tell them. Dont worry.
She smiled. He gave a forceful half smile. Trying to hide his pain from her. But she knew him. She knew his heart.
Khushi brought one hand up and cupped his face. She smiled.
Khushi: Arnav... kya hum apna say is thoray say waqt main... ek dosray kay sath kuch yaadain banain? Hmmm..
Arnav was in shock. Did she just agree to this? He looked at her with widened eyes.
Arnav: matlab....
Khushi smiled, looked down, sucked in her lips. She cleared her throat and brought her hand that was cupping his face on to his chest.
He looked at her with a raised eyebrow and smirk. Did she just agree happily to him moving into her dorm? He was still in a bit of disbelief.
Arnav: Khushi, what do you exactly mean by that? I am a little... ummm.. confused.
Khushi started to smile. She sighed.
Khushi: matlab yeh hai kay, i dont think there is a need to tell Minta and Tom that I know and that we should let things be as is.
Arnav started to tighten his arms around her. She looked side to side. He smiled and rested his forehead against her head.
Arnav: Thank you.. khushi..
Khushi: Apki packing karnay kay liye chalain.
Arnav: its ok. It is not much, I can manage it alone. Dont worry.
Khushi: But you told them that you needed help.
Arnav: I actually just needed an excuse to take you out alone.
Khushi: oh.. hhehe.
Arnav: let me drop you off to your dorm first. You probably also have a lot of your own work to do. Right?
She smiled and looked down. They both held each others hand and started to walk back. They were right near khushis dorm, when khushi remembered something. She started to laugh quietly. Arnav just looked at her from the side of his eyes. He also smiled, but was wondering why she was laughing.
Arnav: Why are you laughing?
Khushi cleared her throat and tried to keep her smile down. Tried, at least. But she wasnt able to.
Khushi: voh.. um..remember when you told me about them being married, you also said something else.
Arnav looked at her curiously. His eyebrow raised, a small smile and squinted eyes. What was she talking about.
Arnav: what?
Khushi: voh... ahem... ahem... voh. You said that you wouldnt touch me. To make me agree to this.
Arnavs smile disappeared. She was right, he did say that. His eyes widened, smile gone, and he was holding his breath.
Arnav: I have no idea what you are talking about.
Khushi looked at him in shock. Did he just deny something he said?
Khushi: yes you did. I remember very clearly. You said that.
Arnav: Khushi, I honestly have no idea what you are talking about.
He looked ahead and tried to keep a straight face. There was no way he would be able to honor what he said. No way at all!
Khushi: Acha, then look at me and say that.
She stopped walking. He walked two steps ahead and their hands were left holding onto each other, arms streched between them. He looked around and noticed that they were standing right infront of her dorm door. Without letting go of her hand, he opened the door and they both went inside. Minta and Tom were both there, but arnav just walked right passed them into khushi room. She followed. Trying to keep her smile concealed from Minta and Tom. Arnav closed the room door behind them. He stopped and looked at her. He sighed. Tightly closed his eyes, squinted his face and whispered to himself, Busted ! He sighed, kept a straight face and turned around to look at her. She was smiling. She knew his every thought. He looked at her with pleading eyes.
Arnav: Khushi.. .voh... come on. You cant actually expect me to ... come on. That is just not possible. No. I cant. I mean, it is just not possible. I cant.
Khushi raised her eyebrow. She had an idea. This morning he had asked her to do something, which she was unable to. This was now her turn. She took two steps forward and stood right infront of him. She looked up to meet his eyes. He looked worried for what she was about to say. He gulped, eyebrows furrowed, lips sealed. She started to quietly whisper to him.
Khushi: Arnav, this morning, you asked me to prove something to you. Right.
His eyes widened. He started to shake his head. NO.. No.. no.. he thought. Please dont say it.. please!
Khushi: This time, I am asking you to prove it. Honour your words Arnav, if you actually, really, truly, deeply love me, then you will not touch me, just like you said you wouldn't. What do you say?
Arnav looked at her with a straight face. No smile, no anger. No nothing. Now he actually knew how she felt this morning. When the other person demands something that you are not able to do.
Arnav let go of his hand that was holding her and held onto both of her shoulders. He looked directly at her.
Arnav: Okay, khushi, I suggest that we dont get carried away in this. Hmm. I mean. Lets think of the consquences and practicality of this first.
Khushi licked her lips and tried to keep her smile in.
Khushi: arnav... this morning when you asked me to prove it, I tried to say the same thing to you. That you were upset and angry, hence you said that. But, all that being said, you were still persistent right?
Arnav gulped, his own actions came back to haunt him and kick him in his back.
Arnav: That was me just being very emotional, that is all. You know I am not that emotional at all, except for when it comes to you.
Khushi: Me agreeing to this, is my way of proving this. Right. Now all I ask is that you commit to what you said. That is all. I never suggested it, you did.
Khushi was thoroughly enjoying this. She looked at him. Trying to keep a straight face.
Arnav sighed. He had to get khushi to understand him, but how? He had an idea. He looked at her and raised his eyebrow. He gave a seductive smirk to her. She looked at him, her smile was gone. Her eyebrows furrowed. The look on his face had her concerned. He let go on her shoulders and slowly started to advance towards her. She would slowly take a step back with eachstep he took forward. Her heart started to beat a little faster. She gulped. He kept his gaze fixed and locked onto hers. He was now out to get his prey!
