About Mayra's kiss, I dont't have an issue with kissing without love ya...that's totally okay. I know you kiss out of love, lust, passion, attraction, intense emotions, impulse or just your instinct like you say. I used to watch a show called dil hi toh hai where they kissed in the first episode itself n I didn't mind that. I don't even expect the kiss to wait till a long 2 years journey of the show or I don't insist that it has to happen only after you realise your love. This also has nothing to do with Maya's past, present or future. I was only not satisfied with the build up to this scene. Rudra's attraction was visible since a few episodes. But I didn't feel love/lust/attraction/passion/aggression/revenge/hormonal imbalance etc from maya's side when it came to Rudra. All I could see was Maya is calculating her every move, she has her revenge game on, she is utilising MJ's sons as pawns in her game, she admires rudra for his truthfulness, meanwhile her admiration has grown due to rudra standing by her side against MJ and she intentionally gets close to Rudra when ananya is watching them just to make her jealous or some bigger motive...that's it. Until they kissed each other, I didn't see Maya anyway emotionally attracted to Rudra. The way she is running away from discussing the kiss now and has tears in her eyes while saying it was a mistake n all, its a bit sudden for me.

Anyways, yeh sab ab lag raha hai...dekhte waqt I absolutely loved the scene and every Mayra things that is following😆 Rudra's attraction towards Maya is written and enacted good enough to make me feel the connect with the story. Shivin is really progressing with each passing day and MayRa scenes are bomb these days!! He looked stud in that denim shirt and messy hair...way hotter and manly than his regular look!

I m totally away from social media these days...so I wasn't aware about this insta post. It came as a shocker in the story n I facepalmed I m not here for this typical Gul drama🤔

Actually I am not asking for Dipika and KVG to get intimate on screen. But the makers are depicting it that way by showing they haven’t yet consummated. That’s being made a big deal here. About Maya, Anu did u see that cake scene? Yes whatever Maya has done has always had ulterior motives behind it. In that one moment, u can glimpse how Rudra has managed to break through her shield and affect her at a fundamental level. That one scene spoke volumes about MayRa. About her having tears in her eyes I think she is playing around with Rudra coz she resolved to focus on her revenge. She is just acting around him. Other than that cake scene and kiss nothing else was real about MayRa. It’s just Maya manipulating the situation.

No Gul drama is happening here dear 😆don’t worry about that. Rudra is afraid of falling for Maya and he proposes to Ananya on impulse hoping that will put a stop to his budding feelings for Maya.

I don't recall seeing any uber cute kids in any of my itv dramas so I ain't really a fan of kids in romance shows - they feel force-fitted a lot of time. The most recent kid character I liked was of course, Mowgli - not Mishti though, even though she was introduced before him. But Ruhi is my absolute FAVOURITE!! This character is totally adorbs and so is Ruhanika! I absolutely love her for her innocence, and more so for her dadi amma'ness. 😆 Those scenes especially melt my heart when she stands up for her Ishima. ❤️ I'm pretty sure Ruhanika's mother did the job of explaining the nuances of each scene to her and helped her get it right. Right from the loneliness in her eyes at the start to the hurt on not getting her father's attention, to the fear of going away from her father, the pain on actually having to go away from him, the happiness when he unexpectedly visited her and then sheer joy on learning that Ishita aunty wasn't going away anywhere but becoming her Ishita mumma, the kid aced the entire gamut of emotions! Then later on, the naughtiness in her eyes when she tried to pair Papa and Ishima and the happiness every single day on seeing them together and having a complete family - she portrayed it all so beautifully and perfectly!!

IshRu's first scene where she goes "Louie" had me go all aww. And though I wanted IshRa to meet already, I thoroughly enjoyed the slow and steady way their story started and progressed. When Raman was first introduced along with Toshi's description on his qualities, he was the opposite of what she said each time and so when she said, "Mera beta kisi ladki ko aankh uthakar nahi dekhta..." I was pretty much prepared to see another casanova, but boy, the way they proved that one right! The scene with the manager's wife was downright wicked and so amazingly done. And the man had no regrets that it had actually resulted in breaking a marriage. 😆

Then that first clash scene was also quite beautifully done. Coincidentally, their work circumstances in that moment were similar but their thoughts, polar opposites. What made the scene stand out more so was Raman actually stopping to see who it was that had voiced her thoughts so contrary to his. The newspaper scene - he was oozing arrogance, as usual, and Ishita was just left rolling her eyes.

Oh, and both the songs are so beautiful down to every line of the lyrics. And each power-packed scene, combined with the appropriate lyrics in the bg gave the scenes a lasting impact!

Ruhaanika has definitely set the bar really high for me while watching any child actor and I haven't yet come across any kid as innocent and naturally talented as her. Her mom definitely has taken a lot of efforts...not just for guiding her in the scenes but also the way she has brought her up is commendable. In spite of grabbing so much popularity at such an early age, she is very grounded and as well-mannered as any other kid her age would be. The success and all the glamour hasn't gone into her head. Every co-star of hers praises her for having that innocence intact. At the age of just 12, she's doing good in her studies, acting, has learnt dancing, classical singing, painting, swimming n so much more...so her mother's efforts r really commendable! Not just her mother, the co-actors and director, specially DT has guided her really well in most of their scenes. She helped her feel that motherly love for her, ru still calls her ishimaa off screen too!

Ruhi's journey from a lonely child till the IshRa wedding was so beautifully written and portrayed. All those scenes u have enlisted are my favourite, especially her talk with Raman without knowing that he's Ishita's fiance and the one where she calls her ishita mumma for the first time are....ahhh so touching!! Also the shopping and lohri scenes r so adorable!!😘 That absolute joy on her face as she does the gathbandhan of IshRa makes u say nazar naa lage!! Consoling Raman with a cake as adi hurts him during his birthday party, her breakdown as she hears ishita saying that she is not her daughter, the way she gives back to shagun as she shops for ishita, the scene during Amma accident track where she serves Raman his dinner as nobody is talking to him and consoles him with her sweet talk, the way she's hurt when she has to go for a picnic with shagun leaving ishita behind, the way she prays in front of the god when the court case is going on, her mother's Day gift to ishita, the scene where she expresses that Raman is her favourite person, the scene when she cries that she should have born to ishita instead of shagun, her agony on learning that her shagun mumma is getting married for the second time and her relationships r getting complicated even more, her tears when she realises her custody battle has reopened, Ishita's godhbharai sequence, the scene when Shravan tells her to ask her ishimaa to get her a baby sister n she sympathises with Ishita's inability to bear a baby, the entire children exchange track and the whole earthquake scene....my god!!! Such difficult and emotionally charging scenes!!! Kaise Kar liya itni si bachi ne I still wonder!! Each and every scene out of these makes me cry everytime I watch it, where my count already should be above 20 at least😆 Apart from these, all her dadi Amma scenes, scenes with shravu and Raman romi toshi...all r so much fun to watch😂 Chhota pataka she is!!

Baki Raman aur IshRa ki tareefein dusre comment mein karte hai...there's lots to talk about them...ek hi comment kuch jyada lambi ho jaegi😆

Oh thank u so so much Mandy for reminding me the cake scene...I can totally feel the connect now! I wonder itna bada scene mein bhul kaise gayi thi😆 I only remembered her getting a cake for him seductively😆 I totally forgot how it melted her when he offered the last piece to her!! It makes sense now!

I hope yeh ruan wedding drama ko Maya time pe brake laga de...I don't want to watch the yawnfest of them reaching the mandap n all🤔

About ronakshi, same!! Even I m not really interested in watching their suhaagraat. As I said the other day in one of the threads, I m okay even if they show two roses or something like that😆 I wouldn't care whether they have consummated or not unless they didn't show hesitation in their proximity. Everytime Sona saying yeh kya Kar rahe ho Rohit, being happy when the phone calls interrupt their moment, being shocked when she had to see him naked or Rohit covering his manhood with towel...all this makes it really idiotic. Just show them kissing each other without any hesitance (of course camera angles) and most of us will be happy with it I think. We just want to see their comfort in intimacy given that it's a love marriage, that's it.

Anu after seeing the promo I don’t have any hopes for MayRa yaar. Maya is wrong this time. Rishi is innocent. There is no way Rudra will love her after he gets to know that. As for Ronakshi, them feeling shy and awkward makes sense if they are caught by someone not in the privacy of their bedroom.

Sarcy🤗 I love you because u correctly understand why I recommend u some show n u like it exactly for the same reasons😆

The acting department and the thehrav in the story is what makes me love this show. At least in this initial phase, the story neither is dragged nor is rushed. They give u just enough background and necessary aftermath scenes to feel what just happened. Previously, hotstar description of yhm used to be something like - A mature take on complex relationship of Raman n ishita who are brought together by destiny and Raman's daughter Ruhi. And the show perfectly stood by this...various complex relationships and their mature journey. Not just ishita-raman-ruhi, but each n every character has a journey in this show. Even cheapda romi will get better with time😆 The journey of all the relationships is good too. It's not sudden like Shaadi ho gayi toh tu humare ghar ki beti types😆 Nor there's typical saas bahu drama where bahu has to prove herself at every given instance n saas keeps plotting against her. One stanza of the title track goes like -

Yeh khatti meethi

Takraar hai ya pyaar

Yeh rootha roothi

Yeh khatti meethi

Sath sath rehna hai

Roothna manaana hai

Yeh kaisi hai ladaai

Ek dor kheeche hai

Ek dor baandhe hai

Hoti nahi hai judaai

Ek duje we hain shikaayatein

Fir bhi sang hai yeh hai mohabbatein

...and that's exactly how the bonds in this show r created. There is nothing sugar sweet nor dramatically bitter. All of them regularly have their share of arguments, but they know how to reconcile smoothly. Toshi-ishita r one of the best saas bahu duos on itv I have watched. Toshi initially doesn't like ishita, yet gives her a respect that Ruhi's mother deserves, gradually they both start liking each other, then toshi stands by Ishita's side when she's right n if required, gives her right advices. Ishita is no super bahu from the beginning. Along with Ruhi's love, Toshi's teachings have made ishita real ishimaa.

Ashok was a funny villain😆 Wait for some more episodes, ull love watching him with Raman😆 Raman n his chhe foot do inch are eternal love🤣 Asli kameena villain of yhm is Param. He is one leech and gives u creeps. The one who played Mahesh in khkt is ashok's brother in yhm...he is one intelligent classy guy too. Shagun is one headache Sayantani was supposed to play shagun? I never knew that. Thank god it didn't happen, I can't really imagine her as shagun...she is too intense to play a role as shallow as shagun. Waise no worries about neela maa, had someone else than Anita played shagun, the role would have ended way back in 2015😆

🤗

Anu, I love you for sharing recommendations that are so in sync with my tastes and being so enthusiastic about discussing them. 😆 It is definitely so much more fun when I have someone to discuss a show that I'm thoroughly enjoying - that's another thing that I haven't been doing that regularly for YHM yet. 🤣

I absolutely enjoyed the slow progression of relationships in the fam as well as emotions in IshRaRu. Given how chaotic it got every time the families clashed, it was pleasantly surprising to see how beautifully their relationships improved over time. The fact that neither was everything sugary sweet nor excessively bitter gave it a very realistic feel. Often times in life we can't stand people due to their nature or because we didn't start on the right note, but there are always those moments when we'd agree with them or stand up for them because it is the right thing to do, keeping our grudges aside for a moment but at the same time, we don't become BFFs suddenly due to that - and that is something that has been portrayed in pretty much every relationship here - be it IshRa, Toshi-Ishita or Simi-Ishita, and even Madhavi-Toshi for that matter.

Raman's character is perfectly and realistically flawed. He's not just another guy with anger issues - but rather these issues are deep-rooted in all the solid heartbreak of his past. The flashbacks help us see how he was and contrast that to how he is now and at the same time, see what caused him to become what he is today. And those odd moments with Ishita (even before the wedding - helping her from the goons, offering her his coat during the rain, helping her with the bonnet of her car), his fierce protectiveness of Mihir, his lonely moments with his daughter, his tears when he is alone are times when his human side buried beneath the layers of arrogance, ruthlessness, indifference and pain peek out and help you see that he isn't a bad person, per se.

Like you said, no excessive bahu-beti drama has kept it balanced. Toshi comes as close to saasu ma goals on itv as can be! 😆I've enjoyed their interactions quite a bit, especially given how she used to constantly fight with the Iyers before IshRa marriage, I expected her to be another unreasonable, plotting saasu ma. But what I loved the BEST about her is even the times when she was upset with Ishita in the initial days, she never held it as a grudge to her heart. For ex, if she would not like what Ishita did, or agree to it, she'd still brush it off because her son was okay with it and happier than before. THAT is the attitude that people should ideally have with regards to family relationships but I've hardly ever seen something like that in itv saasu maas much. It's either my bahu is the best and can't do anything wrong, or woh mere bete ko mujhse dur kar degi. And let's not forget her comic timing. 😆Her random Oye!s can jolt people out of their sleep. 🤣

As to Ashok-Raman, I'm sorely missing Raman's che foot do inch love since Ashok and Shagun split. 🤣Kya mazaa aata tha - especially because since IshRa fell for each other, Raman's sarcastic dialogues with Ishita reduced comparatively. I also enjoyed Ashok-Mihika's marriage while it lasted. I felt Ashok's character could have had an arc during his marriage track instead of making him an extreme villian - his love for Mihika could have been real (he'd become so sweet and almost docile during Mihika's fake pregnancy 😆) and coupled with his hatred of Raman, it would have been an interesting track without taking off Ashok as a villian.

Param is literally a kameena. Will comment on him when I get to commenting on that track. Sooraj was interesting to watch - especially how he saw through Shagun each time. 😆 Shagun is one screechy woman - sometimes I feel I need to pull out my ear plugs to save my ears. 😆

Interestingly, Sayantani's Neela ma and Anita's Shagun were completely opposite characters. One loved another woman's child to bits while the other didn't hesitate to use her own children to get even with another woman. Though, why would Shagun's character have ended in 2015 if someone other than Anita had played it? Did the audience love Shagun so much? Or are you saying so because of Anita and Ekta's rapport?
