I dnt know Ammu.....I think its more about age and maturity. I guess during his college years he was not ready for a girl like Anjali. He fell in love with Tina who is a awesome girl in her own way. After her death he was alone for 7 years and after meeting anjali again he fell for her because he already had feelings for her as she was his best friend. Now he was able to view her as a life partner also.......

He loved both the girls genuinely......one was his love other was his best friend......as he got mature his best friend became his love also.
