Same with Deepu. She took the stand because she needed a push in her opening day numbers... All of them get a whiff of their movies prospect when they show it to distributors. Being the producer she was aware her movie is gonna do Ek Ladki Ko Dekh/Sky Is Pink level business. So when the acid talk by a sanghi was out, she thought it would be a good opportunity for her. She chose the right time to jump on the protest bandwagon, but she had very short time. She needed 2 weeeks more to make the whole movement about her. Fake vandalsim se logo ko uksa bhi nahin paayi like Padma time.

Haath mein 2 hafte time hota toh zaroor log kranti laate uski film dekh ke. People were still not THAT invested on saving private Deepu.

Look when SLB sowed seed for Padma.., it was when the movie shooting began. Padma ko ek controversy banane ke liye RW ke fake victim bane SLB despite the movie being produced by Ambanis, despite SLB being pally with Modi's khaas banda Mahavir Jain.

Logo ko pagal bana ke rakkha tha 2 mahino ke liye afvah aur fake dhamki news publish kar kar ke. Fake protest against Padma continued till the 2nd day of the movie's release.

RW ke victim SLB ab dekho kuch National Awards bhi leke aaya ghar mein ussi film ke liye. SLB could've shut the karni sena up through Mahavir Jain and Ambanis if the karni drama was real.

Okay bohat bak liya. The point is she needed more time to use the protest to the fullest.

So Alia's strategy of hiring directors, didn't work out for Deepika, eh? 😆

DP didn't have Bhansali, Ambani or Mahavir Jain pulling strings this time. Maybe she thought she could manage it with Spice. But the topic she chose was a mistake.

Karni Sena is just a fringe group. During release time, bhagwan of bhakts, Arnab Goswami was doing 1 hour shows shouting at people to go watch Padmavat.

I wonder what is going to happen to Draupadi now. They don't even have a director and yet they were boasting about it. Another film that can cause loads of controversy. Feminist new version will make changes that half the country will get angry about.

Lol. That film was never going to happen just like the superhero film. Palace of Illusions anyway is a pretty sucky novel.

I do foresee Ranbir and Deepika doing a film to save each others careers. 😆

Everything is KJo's fault in this world 😛

All I am saying is that Alia always goes after these sorta-kinda indie directors who just had a breakout hit. That glory is usually enough to carry a second film and it works because that has been Alia's image from Day One. Equal opportunity rom-coms and these author backed roles. People trust her with those.

Deepika is supposed to do those grand big budget films. She has her whole image carved as someone larger than life.
