Actually laashein bicchi hui hoti thi--my uncle was serving in JK as recently as 2002. Entire hamlets, wedding parties used to be massacred those days. He was so traumatized...he still has PTSD today from those days...the 2 years he served there. And that was like years after the supposed end of one of the worst genocide. The dig was toward the director, not the incident. He has been making movies since the late 70s, never felt like making a movie on this topic being a Kashmiri Hindu himself. He even made a film romanticizing Kashmir's beauty, another on police killing innocent Muslim kids. Ab jab last year se Modi aur Amba niyon se dosti ho gayi hai, he thought of making a movie on the genocide/evacuation. Simply pleasing the people in power right now.

I remember how my grandpa never wanted to go back even when my grandma insisted, we supposedly cut our all ties after this incident even the central/south india wasn't much welcoming, then he had to change his name.... I hope this movie shows the truth!
