The moment they realised wickedness of baba, they were free to take their own decision, instead of being too mahaan. These days they need to show some strong but morally right chacaters.

@bold, Shubhra has actually said this very same thing clearly in yesterday's episode but our hero and heroine want to be MAHAAN. That's indeed a pity for us viewers. It would have been refreshing if Abhi-Asa rebelled and went ahead with the marriage and then confronted Ajoba for his perverted mentality.

A rebellious jodi is not an ideal zm jodi. Only villians are allowed to be bold and rebellious.

I know. But I was hoping something different from stalwarts like GO, NS and TP. But, unfortunately, the channel bosses are stronger and will have their way.

It's all about TRPs and money at the end of the day.... Matured audiences like those on this forum can keep crying till the cows come home yet the CVs will laugh their way to the bank... They fully know what the audiences want and they must be fully conscious of the way we desperately want the serial to mould.... Yet they will do the exact opposite....

That will keep us hooked on as certified regular clientele and help them reach Rajasthan and Goa....

Isn’t it amazing that serials based in villages have female leads playing bold characters. While serials based in cities are shown to have idiotic female leads like Asawari! If she is so much under the obligation of her sasra, then go marry katekor. Why are you going against his wishes? Again and again pleading with Shubhra saying, “mala vaachav”. Then if Shubhra gave you a solution, why reject it?

The worst part is that NS has gone to town in all her interviews calling it a mature love story and how lucky she is to have got such a role. Wow!!! 👏🏽

Totally agree avidwatcher , I don't have anything to add. Your observation regarding rural n urban female leads is correct. All these urban serials started airing after the grand success of sairaat. So I think they tried Archie as their common mould for heroines.

While urban female leads are still waiting for the best example to be set for them. These dumb makers are not sensitive enough to play with various shades of human nature.

I tend to disagree on this. One of the best examples was set in ELDG (Can one forget the dashing, down to earth Mukta/Radha) and the serial succeeded too but unfortunately why did they then have to resort to B******T like MNB to garner TRPs. This stumps me.

Even AS is a good concept. It could so easily have been made as interesting and progressive as ELDG but they decided to go and follow the MNB pattern.

If you recollect a serial" Bade acche lagte Hain " on sony tv too was a mature love story of two middle aged adults ... But the travails and struggle of a middle class woman was handled superbly and the sub plots were built around the basic core story of bringing sakshi tanwar and ram Kapoor together...The plot never wavered to highlight the chemistry between the two and brought forth subtly ....

What I mean is the concept of a love story blooming between elderly couple is novel and refreshing and being shown for the first time in Marathi serials... Wonder why they have to resort to such antics of abla nari in a disgusting way! ! ! It could be the MNB Voodoo effect..

In fact, I can totally understand that a sasra being of a different generation, might have a problem with his widowed daughter in law getting remarried. Or a grown up son having issues because of peer pressure. But to show it in this manner?? Omg!! So much cheapness!

Today tar the two mahaan protagonists who gave such big dialogues about the purity of their love, are finally ending in tears and are resorting to begging. Tya Asawari chya character la kahi artha navhatach, Ata Raje saheb suddha “Datta” kade bheek magayla gele!! Kaal tar Datta barobar basun engagement cha menu discuss karat hota hasat hasat.
