Houseful 4 with negative reviews got 200 crores so no, mindless entertainment is not getting rejected. If the movie is entertaining enough, it will work no matter how much negativity the movie faces. Have not seen D3 but the movie must have been really bad not entertaining at all for it to get such a weak response.

Era of mindless masala is gone. There was a phase where such movies were accepted. Now we are entering a different phase.

People like movies which have a purpose or message. If it is delivered well movie is a hit.

India forums and real world have hugeeee difference.

Nothing is ever constant. So which worked in the 90s or even 3 days ago might not work now.

Houseful 4 was not mindless. It was comedy. Comedy is such a genre that will never get old. And it was well made too. I enjoyed the movie.

I don't know which category dabang falls into. I always hated the dabang series from the first movie. It's boring.

A comedy like Houseful (I have not seen the film.but it seemed like a combo of parody and slapstick comedy from what I have seen in the trailer) is the definition of a mindless comedy these types of films are sometimes called dumb comedy films... Dabangg is a mindless action potboiler or in Indian context a masala film...these films are not deep but good time pass, popcorn flicks.

Houseful 4 maybe mindless but it's still comedy. It is enjoyable. So it will pass.

The era of dabang type movie is gone. Dabang is like a mix of everything comedy, action, romance, family drama which is mindless, it serves no purpose. It's not entertaining anymore. Thus it is rejected by audience.

Super stardom and huge fan following cannot save a thrashy boring product anymore.
