the thing was he came to know about the accident being planned. Ofc if he had wanted to finish off he would have reverted his car like he said. But he didn't. Also due to the fact that his last sane strings were pulled he said so to ex. So he manipulated Prerna by telling her the real story but not entirely. It's like anyway the latter part wouldn't have had mattered anyway. He played along with the plan made by Ex.

Bajaj's character is to be so, A villain to all, A Hero to Prerna. They kept that intact in this sequence.
