She is from Tulu Nadu, which is currently a part of the Indian states of Karnataka and Kerala. She is from the Bunt community (same community from which Suniel Shetty, Shilpa Shetty, Rohit Shetty, Prakash Raj (Rai) etc. come from).

Her mom looks like Asha Parekh and Shreya Ghoshal combined.

Yes Anushka too. Nayanthara is Malayali from Kerala. Samantha is half Telugu, half Malayali but grew up in Tamil Nadu.
