In fact this tamboo drama is taken from a classic hindi 60's comedy Pyar Kiye Ja featuring Mehmood, Kishkore Kumar, Sashi Kapoor and Om Prakash. One of the most hilarious run riots of all time. There are tracks in N number of movies inspired by the original Pyar Kiye ja ( specially that Mehmood narrating the horror story to Om Prakash).

Dhoomdhadaka was a frame by frame copy of Pyar Kiye Ja and is not a patch on the original. Just watch Pyar Kiye Ja and marvel at the chemistry of kings of comedy Mehmood, Kishore Kumar, Omprakash and Shashi Kapoor with a bonus of hit songs.
