But the character she is portraying is not her own letters to burn it down..she is hurting other acid victim survivors more by doing this since they are living with burns and not easy for them to burn like letters or whatever..

Since Deepika lived with wearing those prosthetics she had to burn those to release any negative emotions she was feeling.

how on earth is she hurting acid attack victims by burning a piece of prosthetic? That doesn't make sense at all.

I agree with the person who said she did it to get the character out of her system. It's symbolic, and she has ever right to do so.

Because as I said other victims are living with the burns and not easy for them to remove their burns just like deepu darling did and put in fire ..this insensitive act of hers will hurt them more if not lessen..

Usually I don't answer bs especially pertaining to skewed versions of things as sensitive as this but let me just state few things : Performative burning ritual is a known form of mindfulness therapy to let the energy go. Encouraged by counselors as well but limitedly since excessive release through this step leads to dependency and one can get addicted. Also pyromaniacs are inclined to misuse this.

Letters,photographs,literally anything that's thats been a cause of stress or duress is encouraged to be used because people want to witness the cause of their duress to die down before their eyes. The article does not matter,its the energy its putting you through.

She is hurting other survivors by letting go of a certain mindframe? I did not see anywhere in the article where she mentions she got traumatised looking at herself and that's why she burned it down in hate. The prosthetics was a probably a reminder of a heavy space for her in which she was for days. Usually it's a deep state you can't come out till you see the manifestation of your duress gone. She burns it down to let it go. Its really that simple.

I think she did right by giving priority to her mental health more than anything else.

I don't understand why people are making a mountain out of a molehill.

It's really funny to read certain interpretations, which tell more about the blind hatred than anything else. Well, I guess a top star will have both -- fans and naysayers- in equal measure.

Its not even a heavyset mental health issue. No. Its a form of psychological therapy especially used when close friends/spouses die, breakups, a heavy experience at workplace,a chronical or terminal disease, any experience that saps your energy. Basically to get you out of the mindframe immediately by getting rid of the most potent reminders and prepare you for the stage of acceptance.

In pop culture,it has shown up as gfs or bfs burning gifts or photographs to move on lol.
