I don’t agree Manisha copied Sridevi style of acting, she had unique acting skills with added natural innocence, you could say she was inspired by sridevis choice of career.

... before joining IF, as an international fan I've never even heard - or noted- Manisha in a movie. That should tell you how wide Madhuri's reach is even outside of India.

Madhuri's acting was subtle, natural, nuanced, effortless & layered....not everyone can decode it.

And because she was so smooth that the hardwork she put into could be misjudged as easy acting, something people attribute to Irrfan Khan as well.

Those who are into too much in your face type great acting, will never conceptualized Madhuri's wonderful nuanced seamless performances... also she had that great ability to change her expressions so smoothly within a spur of a second...(shining examples are people lynching over her in Lajja.

And the scene where she murders her brother in law in Anjaam...after killing Tinu Anand in Anjaam, just observe how beautifully seamlessly & rapidly she changed her expressions in just 20 seconds from been vengeful to shocked to terrified to traumatized that what she just did and then having regret allover her face...this is a prime example of what a great performer she is....Forget Manisha, no one could gave such rapidly changing diversed expressions with utmost conviction just within a span of few seconds, except Sridevi.

Naysayers can say whatever they like, but the fact remains the same that Madhuri is not just a finest dancer, but an extremely fine performer as well.

😂 Sorry, I don't find Madhuri's acting style nuanced, at all. Making faces is not acting. In dance, you ARE taught to move your facial muscles to mimic emotion, but that is purposely exaggerated. Doesn't work on screen when doing a non dancing role.

Even when you watch her movies where she tries to be subtle, all you see is Madhuri, the star, playing different characters. You don't see the character. She was a star, no doubt. But terrible actress, mediocre at best.

Also, I thought this thread was about ACTING 🤔, not success or stardom. Madhuri of course was way more successful.

Manisha was extremely beautiful but she always played a damsel in distress in all her movies. Don’t think I can rate manisha better in comparison with even Kajol, so comparison with Madhuri is completely irrelevant.

Manisha was better looking and better actress, in my opinion.

Yes Madhuri is hands down the most popular and successful female actress we ever had, acting wise, I don't consider her a great.
