He became an actor because someone (Govinda) said he was handsome and he could. There is no passion involved hence he will never get it. Churning movie after movie like some items off of Chinese Factory isn’t something he should boast about. It’s his thing we get it but he doesn’t have to look down and mock who earnestly and passionately do their jobs.

Oh I think he ''gets it'' a lot ..but he is insecure.

Akki has gotten fame and money but he WANTS IT ALL. And cannot stand others being praised for qualities he feels are NOT IMPORTANT to a movie's quality and its success.

He thinks: 'If I can churn out movies like that and still make money, why bother prepping? Just go out there and just do whatever character the way you feel, no prep needed. Look at me, I never prep and I get hits, so why should anyone praise those that prep and consider them better?'

He's insecure.

He also thought that many would probably agree with him and mock actors that prep in big majority- I bet he never expected to get such lashing on twictter and for the thrashing he got everywhere.

* no one has a problem with his success- Schwarzenegger and Dwaine Johnson are huge HW stars that aren't really 'acting'. The problem people have is with his attitude versus others.

I loved Akki movies before Padman. Out of his 10 movies 7 movies used to be very entertaining..Be it nonsense comedy or deshbhakti his performances were earnest which is completely lost these days..now he is relying on one single formula. Pick up a good real life story which can make ppl sentimental , proud and nostalgic .bas..chal hatt aise movie banate hain kya!

do you realise outside of the bubble called IF, Akki is generally praised for his acting by critics, media and public. You are acting as if he is regarded as Arjun Kapoor of acting.

Whose praise is he carving for? That he is suddenly insecure? Kuch bhi.

Honestly I don't have anything against him-I've watched many of his earlier movies and enjoyed them for the mindless entertainment they provided... like Housefull, Namastey London or whatever(the one with Kat),Singh is King, OMG, Jolly LLB - all those pre-Toilet I have watched, if they weren't too 'serious'.

Never got his appeal in serious/preachy movies.

So it's not about'IF bubble or how others perceive him.

Think on it with an 'outsider' brain like mine- you can appreciate and be entertained by an actor's movies even if you don't consider the 'actor' Akki so great at acting.. You can like him in a genre- and I liked him in his comedic roles.

I tried a few of his 'serious/preachy roles- Airlift, Rustom, Toilet, Padman and I haven't really liked them... And yes, this is my personal opinion- that Akki until Jolly LLB2 was awesome fun.. then he tried to 'milk it' or tried 'acting' and hasn't 'shined' as much. For me. Maybe even he felt udner-appreciated for his 'efforts' and got 'soured' because he thought he'd get more praise for acting..

On this issue: he joked once on the subject..okay..he joked twice..but if he isn't THAT BOTHERED why continue to attack others that try perfect their craft? What's it to you, Akki, how x, y or z prepare?

If he has nothing nice to say, better he says nothing. Spewing such things just shows he has insecurities about how he is perceived as somewhat less than others in ACTING- a 'job' that gave him celebrity, status and money.

Tom cruise is one of the best actors. Just because he doesn't do Oscar bait movies he isn't considered as a great. He is up there with the likes of bale, McConaughey etc

People don't even know what method acting is and are giving lectures.

Doing prep, working hard, and taking a longer time to make a movie is NOT method-acting. Method-acting is a particular school of acting and there are many wonderful actors also that don't believe in it. There are also other styles.

Most actors prepare and create their characters but only some keep hyping themselves about locking themselves in rooms and pretending they're great because they took a year to eat and get fat. In India, it became a way to brag after Heath Ledger's performance.

Watch Jerry Maguire or A few good men or Born on 4th of July. Tom performed Better than in these films than recent Oscar winning performance

The issue is not about prep or method acting- it's about Akki's disdain for anything that isn't on his 'line of thinking'.

No one would have bothered if he just replied he's not into prep or method acting - and left it there.
