No, Karan is always insecure about Prithivi more than Shiv. He knows Shiv is a good guy, but he also knows Shiv wont do anything as crazy as Prithvi. So he is more worried about Prithvi getting closer to Preeta.

And yes Shiv can be a good competitor for Karan and that's y he tries his best to make shiv keep his distance whenever Preeta is in the club. For him Shiv is not a threat like Prithvi as he knows her family, house, and most importantly he has "Sarla maa's" aashirvad, which Preeta considers an important factor. (I mean to say he is on sarala's good book)
