Shouted navya carrying her handbag and taking an apple from table to eat.

MEETA- again you're moving out without breakfast... You're never going to change navya

Said meeta in disbelief but her younger daughter who was looking so cute in her brown jumpsuit didn't find it important to listen to her ..

As navya gets down the apartment and was moving towards her car, her eyes fall on red color Mercedes Benz which was waiting for her outside her apartment. She looked confused and smile when the window shades of car got down and she noticed anant. She moves towards him..

NAVYA- Morning Mr bajpayee...

ANANT- good morning Ms Mishra... Get in

NAVYA- excuse me....??

She looked surprised when anant ordered her. He took out his black glares and move out of his car. She was literally in aww looking at her new crush in white shirt and black blazer...

ANANT- you heard that right... Get in... I'm also moving towards the renovating apartment

NAVYA- why are you being so bossy Mr monster??

Asked navya folding her hands while anant gave her a smirk...

ANANT- monster??? Not bad.... For your information no one of my employees try to utter a word against me.

NAVYA- I'm not your employee...

ANANT- but you work for me... Hence I'm your boss... Now don't argue and get in

Anant put his glares on and gets inside his car... Navya moves towards the passenger side and they drove to anant's apartment...

Anant stole a look at navya, sitting in the passenger seat of his car.Ever since he had first met her, he had been trying to fight the instant attraction he felt towards her. He was not a man who believed in love, or more importantly, trusted it. He did not think he was even capable of loving. If they kept meeting, their professional relationship would eventually develop into something more. They would reach a point where he would have no idea how to control things from getting out of hand.

NAVYA- stop gazing at me Mr bajpayee...

Said navya suddenly interrupting anant...

NAVYA- concentrate on your driving... I don't want to be in heaven this early.

ANANT- whatever.....

There was a silence in the car for some time. Anant thought that it was a little awkward, but navya did not seem to mind. She was looking outside the window and smiling to herself like a lunatic.

ANANT- What's so funny?

She turned to face him, grinning from ear to ear. He did not understand why she smiled so much. No matter what was happening around her, her default state was-being happy.

NAVYA- What's funny is-you. You're the strangest person I have ever seen. Why are you so boring?

ANANT- I'm not boring... You don't know anything about me

NAVYA- so tell me.... But not the stuff that is already on Google, because I know all of that already'

ANANT- you Googled me???

Asked anant getting shocked.. navya gave him a smile and continued

NAVYA- so what?? It's ok to Google any celebrity..

ANANT- I'm not celebrity...

Anant cuts her between. She gave him a look and continued looking outside...

ANANT- my life is only a tragedy...

NAVYA- I know about your family... Ranbir told us... I mean me and ritika...

Anant stopped the car and looked at her. She gave him a smile and get down from car.

ANANT- Ms Mishra.....

Anant called her and she looked at him... He moves towards her.

ANANT- you're a nice friend.. I can sense that. And I need you as my friend...

NAVYA- my friends don't call me Ms Mishra...

She smiles at him...

ANANT- neither my friends call me Mr bajpayee

He smirked... And they both left from there to the renovating apartment...

It was 1 am and sleep was nowhere in sight. He reprimanded himself for getting weak and letting her get under his skin.

As he lay in his bed that night, he still did not know how it had happened. How could he let it happen? He had been trying to hold back and not get close to her. That was what was best for both of them, but he failed. He let her believe that they were dating, and she was bound to get hopeful about their future together. That is how the female brain functions. The female brain also senses wealth and can do anything to have it. That is how it is with women. What's in a man's pocket is more important to them than love. He considered the chance of navya being different, but he could not take the risk. He hated himself for thinking like that about navya. But the lessons life had taught him had made him cynical. He could not just accept things without thinking about them first and finding flaws in them. Some things were too perfect to be true. He tried and failed to sleep that night. Finally, a few hours of result-less efforts later, he got out of bed and made his way to the kitchen. He put on some coffee to brew in the coffeemaker and sat at the kitchen table, waiting. Once it was done, he filled a mugful of the hot liquid and took it with him to his bedroom.He turned on the television. After surfing for a while, he found that a rerun of some crime show was on. He stared at the TV screen to ward off uninvited thoughts. When the show was over, he flipped through the channels again but failed to find anything remotely interesting. He wished he had someone he could call, if only to be able to fight the fierce feeling of loneliness. But he had no one other than ranbir. But he knows that his best friend is busy in his own work. He had cut all ties with human beings a long time ago. His life was his work. With all the thoughts finally coming to end, his restlessness was put to a state of comparative ease. He fell into a dreamless, uncomfortable sleep.

ANANT- so all for money right...???

Asked anant not believing in what was happening

SONIA- yes... Why would I be with you without your money... You are such a not so happening guy...

Anant became shocked

SONIA- listen .. I can continue our relationship now also... But please do not ask me for marriage ever again. I'm not that type... If you want we can get in together, live together in your apartment. But please no ties....

Anant said nothing. He just shook his head in disgust. He was still wrapping his head around the fact that the girl he had allowed to pass through all his defences, had betrayed him. How could he not see

that she had never had real feelings for him? She had been a darn good actress. He was sickened by the way she had played with him, his heart. He turned away from her....

He got up from his dream.. his bad dream.. which always haunts him. Already the clock shows 7 and he don't want to close his eyes again for the reason that maybe again someone will backstabbed him...

Said meeta to which navya said ok and hangs the call...she looks at anant who smile lightly at her. He drove the car from there. Meanwhile navya message ritika and told her about the situation to which ritika agreed but on a condition that whatever they'll be doing navya has to give her all update...

I want their love story deep with emotional connection rather than attraction..and I think as story moves forward we will definitely get this ..till then looking forward to their love phase..

They both shared a laugh... It was midnight and still both of them were talking not about professional life but something about personal life...

The next one month went by at an unrealistic pace, or at least that was how Anant felt. Working with navya was an overwhelming experience. He had grudgingly admitted to himself that he was impressed by her work.She got engrossed in whatever she was doing, be it something as important as detailing her designs or as insignificant as taking printouts. She put her heart into everything. Over the weeks they had spent working together, she had slowly grown on him. If nothing else, he was just used to having her around. Her laughter, her chirps, her bright eyes and her ... sheer presence had become a part of his routine. He had no idea how she had managed to get under his skin so quickly, but she had. There was no denying that. Now it was the time when anant's whole apartment was ready and it was his housewarming party. Ranbir and ritika were also present. Anant made a call to Aditya

ANANT- where are you?

ADITYA- at my place sir

ANANT- I want here ryt now...

ADITYA- 'But, sir ... I was going to go to a movie with friends. The show starts in forty minutes.' also it's your party sir. I'm your employee, what will I do over there

ANANT- shut up... You're my friend too... Miss your movie and be here

Anant hung up and turned to the mirror. He was wearing a deep violet shirt under a charcoal suit. He played with a few ties and decided not to bother with any of them. He unbuttoned the first few buttons of his shirt and flicked his fingers through his hair. He needed a haircut, and his stubble was getting out of hand, too, but he didn't have time for that. Trying to manage his hair to make it look presentable,and walked out of his bedroom. By the time Anant got to the hall, his heart was beating rapidly in his chest. He wished he had made some friends over the years, if only to have been able to ask for their help in the situation he was in. He was like a teenager in a very different feeling called love but he don't want to be in it again, only with a whole lot of baggage and reservations. His mind was in complete chaos. He did not know what to do. He could not let navya go. But making her stay was not something he was prepared for either; that would mean commitment and he was not ready for that yet. But when he saw her that night, all his hesitations and uncertainties vanished. And not just because she was looking resplendent in the bottle green saree she wore. She stood only a few feet away from him, but was still far away. She had a drink in her hand, which remained untouched. He tried to catch her attention, but she was not looking at him, even though her eyes were turned towards him.

ANANT- hi

NAVYA- hey.....

Smiled navya looking at anant

NAVYA- where's adi? Is he not coming

He cocked his eyebrow and smirk a little

ANANT- adi??? Well.. he is... Must be getting here any moment

NAVYA- appy is not. She's down with fever-viral. I tell you, it's the worst thing ever. You have to get all kinds of stupid blood tests done over and over again and nothing comes out positive. So the doctors just prescribe every kind of medicine there is in the world, which only makes things worse. Plus it leaves a bitter taste in the mouth-you can't even enjoy eating. Imagine that.

ANANT- bapre.... You have so much to say for every single thing ryt

Ranbir and ritika came there and join them. Soon Aditya also arrived. The guests some of which were anant's partners and important clients too join the party and he got busy with them. Hence didn't got any privacy with navya.

Three weeks had passed since he had last seen her. There had not been a single day when he had not thought of her and missed her, in his own convoluted way. He had decided what needed to be done. He wanted her back. He wanted to give themselves-and any relationship which could ensue between them-a chance. He promised himself that he would be careful. He knew she probably was not after his wealth. She was different than others but still he have to be careful.After telling himself for the hundredth time to tread carefully, he picked up his phone and called her number. He got a busy tone. He tried again, with the same outcome. It was in the evening, -that his phone rang. His thoughts went to her immediately. And sure enough, it was navya's cell number, which was displayed on his phone's screen.

ANANT- hello?

NAVYA- hi.. anant?

ANANT- hi navya.. how are you

NAVYA- 'I'm good. How are you? Long time. It's the craziest thing ever-I was just thinking about you. And I check my phone and find your missed calls.'

ANANT- 'Is that so? And why would you be thinking about me?'

Anant asked getting pleasantly surprised

NAVYA- it's that we were becoming good friends I thought. But you selfish buddy... After your work got done you didn't called me once....

Anant could almost imagine her making a face and crinkling her nose at the other end of the phone. He had really missed that, he suddenly realized.

ANANT- I'm sorry for that

NAVYA- Long time, Yar. I thought you must have forgotten me, seeing as you do not make friends, just business acquaintances,'

Anant kept quiet searching for words to speak

ANANT- 'I called you just to ... see if we could catch up sometime, maybe?'

NAVYA- sure... Dinner tomorrow?

ANANT- sounds great

NAVYA- 'But may I ask why the sudden interest in me?'

ANANT- 'No reason.' Actually, I have wanted to get back in touch since a long time, but was not sure whether or not it would be appropriate.

NAVYA- 'Okay. Never mind. See you tomorrow then?'

ANANT- Ya.. tomorrow

NAVYA- 'Text me the address; I will be there.'

ANANT- 'No. You don't have to come. I mean-I'll come to pick you up from your place.'

NAVYA- 'You do know that that would make it a date, don't you?'

ANANT- I know....

They hung up the call... Anant got to his bed smiling tonight for the very first time after so long.....

Red suited her, he thought, as soon as he laid his eyes on her. Standing at her door, one hand holding the door open for him and the other putting back an escaped curl behind her ear, she was a sight. However, he did not let her know that.

ANANT- ready?

NAVYA- yes... Let me get my handbag

Said navya and rushed to her room. Deepak came there

DEEPAK- oh hi young man.. why are you at door? Please get in

Anant smile a little and get into navya's house. He sat on sofa and meeta brought a glass of water for him

ANANT- namaste aunty.. uncle ..

MEETA- hello... navya told us.. she had worked with you. So did you like her work?

Asked meeta surprisingly. Anant smile to the so very mom who is concerned about her daughter's work

ANANT- ya aunty .. she is nice at her work

Navya got back from her room.

ANANT- ok... I'll take a leave

DEEPAK- do come again beta

Anant felt emotional hearing Deepak said the word beta. He control his emotions and just gave a lite smile at her parents. They get down to his car

NAVYA- Do you have a place in mind?'

ANNAT- the 7 blue hotel?

As anant said the name navya gave a bad look

ANANT- why? What's wrong there?

NAVYA- 'Everything. I feel old there. Everyone is so silent and sombre, sitting under the high ceilings and expensive chandeliers. It's like being rich drained all the fun out of them. No offence.'

They both get inside his car.

ANANT- so what's your plan?

NAVYA- let's go at juhu beach...

ANANT- at this time?

NAVYA- oh God anant... Beach is time hi Jate he... Will have panipuri there

ANANT- no.. there will be lots of noise and crowd... I want us to be alone

Said anant unknowingly... Navya smile at him.

NAVYA- What about long drive then? We are alone in this car only...

Anant smile at her... He started driving his car in a smooth highway without any traffic and population

ANANT- I've a work for you

NAVYA- go on...

ANANT- There is a hotel that needs to be refurnished. It'll be an easy task, since most of the furniture in a hotel looks alike. So we have to get just a few designs ready. But other than that, there is a lot of work to do. Almost from scratch, since the owner wants the hotel to look new in all aspects.'

NAVYA- sound's interesting. Who's the owner

ANANT- I am ...

NAVYA- what? 'You bought a hotel?Whoa! When? Why?'

Navya shrieked

ANANT- 'Just signed the registration papers today. You are the first to know.'

NAVYA- wow...

ANANT- what do you mean by this?

Anant could sense a lot more behind her one wow. He could tell by the look on her face that her brain was working furiously, putting together pieces.

NAVYA- 'Does this have anything to do with ... me?'

Asked navya slowly...

Anant didn't said anything. He stopped his car at a corner.

NAVYA- 'So ... you bought a hotel just so we can have something to work together on?'

ANANT- 'In a way. But more than anything, it was a means of investment.

Anant looks other way trying to escape from her eyes. She moves towards him and kissed at his cheeks...

NAVYA- 'This is sweet, Anant. I know you won't accept it, but I also know why you are doing this. All this while, I have been thinking that there might be a chance that you would let me into your personal bubble and not push me away like you do everyone else. But I had not expected it to happen so soon. Now that it is happening, it makes me happy.'

Anant did not know how to respond. He had not expected her to be so honest. Nor had he ever thought that he could fall in love that easily. All his doubts and uncertainties went away in a fraction of a second. Those bright, wide eyes could never lie. He trusted her.

NAVYA- 'I do not know what happened to make you the way you are-hiding in your private hole, keeping everyone out, no human attachment-but I'm glad that you're coming out of it. And I'll be with you, by your side, on every step of your journey, whenever you need me,'

He pulled her closer to him and stared into her eyes for what seemed like an eternity. They stood there, still as statues, as time froze around them. Nothing seemed to matter. There were tears in her eyes, and there were tears in his. They were happy, they were sad, they were in love. He had never imagined that love would come back into his life. What he had had with sonia, what his heart had once felt so strongly about that woman, paled mightily in comparison. He had not known navya for long, but he knew they were meant to be. Sometimes in love, there is no rational explanation to it, you just know. And with every beat of his heart, it just became clearer to him. Right then, staring into her eyes, he promised himself that he wouldn't let the skeletons from his past get in their way. He promised himself that he would trust her, have faith in her and see where love took them. He promised to love her with no reservations. Still looking deeply into her eyes he ran his thumb lightly over her lower lip. He could not hold back any longer. And he did not find a reason why he should. He pulled her closer to him and touched her lips softly with his. They stayed like that for a while, met each other's eyes and tightened the embrace. He kissed her, softly at first and hurriedly when she responded. The kiss felt like heaven, and if left up to him, he would never have let it end. But soon, they were out of breath. Navya pulled back to draw air, and as she hurriedly gasped the oxygen in, Anant moved to her neck, leaving a trail of kisses there in his wake.He moved his thumb and traced her collarbone. He had not seen much of her, but he thought her collarbone was her most appealing feature. He had wanted to touch it ever since he had seen her. He pushed the strap of her dress an inch and it fell off her shoulder. She moaned, when Anant bit her softly on her shoulder. He licked the bite and sucked on it. That would leave a mark. She threw her head back and moaned again. Her hands moved from around his neck to his chest, and he felt his heart beat rapidly under her palms. She looked up at him and smiled. He kissed her smile again...
