Why Anurag Kashyap movies fail?

I think he makes entertaining thrilling movies. His movies are not slow paced artsy type which people find boring. They are mind numbing films. Still they fail at box office. Why?

His movies are complicated. Ek baar me samjh nahi ati

Because he mostly casts floppies, hence his movies also flop and the only time he casted someone big, he didn't made a movie of his style, i.e. Bombay Velvet.

Also apart from GOW, his movies are mostly thrillers, thrillers don't have repeat value.

His movies are generally dark movies , they don't work with bollywood audience ,most low budget movies that become hits are comedy , Ayushman made a career out of it.

Unpopular opinion here but I find Anurag Kashyap highly overrated. The only good movie he made was GOW. I didn't like his other movies and now I don't even prefer watching his movies. Movie me gaali de do aur woke ban jao and look all cool doesn't sell a movie.

That’s the popular opinion in reality eh. Don’t let 5-6 pseudo-critics with such finer tastes and a few YouTube, twitter folks make you think you are in the minority lol. You are in the overwhelming majority. Even Kashyap’s own mom wouldn’t pay to watch his movies in the theatres.

Funny because GOW too had alot of gaalis.
