Let’s SEGREGATE REEL from REAL? Shall we?

1. Anurag lashing at Prerna Slap- Storytelling Okay

An ex lover hitting his ex gf for leaving him in real life-Not Okay

2. Prerna hitting Anurag slap- Storytelling Okay

A woman hitting a man in real life-Not Okay

3. Bajaj cunningly sabotaging Prerna-Storytelling Okay

A man putting such conditions in front of a woman in real life-not okay

4. Sexual advances for both men and women even after being in marriage- Storytelling okay

A man/woman coaxing to consummate without consent in real life-Not Okay

5. Moloy Hitting Mohini-Storytelling Okay

A husband choosing to slap wife to shut up no matter how evil in real life-Not okay

So, the bottomline is- Storytelling could have imaginations but let’s REFRAIN from comparing REEL to REAL and JUSTIFY!!!!!
Full stop....

Let’s not mix views. There are many women who are in mentally and physically abusive relationships.

A slap is a slap is a slap. Even a kinky slap without consent in bed is a SLAP. There are no POETIC layers or colours to a slap

Agree without any condition. Things happening on fictional platforms can't be justified in real life.

Blakmailing as wrong as slapping in real life for whatever reasons. I wonder how many of us have loved being slapped? Slap is one of the most insulting action.

Critisize fictional characters as much as you want, love them as much as you wish but don't take it to a level where you end up writing a long list to justify slapping in real world.

Please note that I haven't and I will never justify wrong actions in real life since I'm a well formed human being!!!

I have not had the time to read through all the replies here so maybe what I'm saying might e already been said but here's my two cents anyway.

Slapping someone once, in a fit of anger/stress does not count as abuse. Agreed. But, BUT , the action is nevertheless wrong. Because when you lose control of yourself once to indulge in physical violence (and yes slapping is an act of physical violence), there's a very high chance that you will lose it again. And the next time that happens, it might not take much to trigger you. There can always be excuses and justification. You provocated me, is the one we most often hear. But no amount of justification excuses lifting a hand on another human being.

You've made a point about parents slapping children, and here again this is very murky territory. I'm not even going there since it has nothing to do with this show.

Bottom line is, slapping someone is derogatory and violent and wrong under any and all circumstances. The only and only exception maybe to bring someone out of a deep shock or into their senses and I'm no psychologist to comment on if that's the right thing to do or if it even works.

Truthfully, I enjoyed mohini getting slapped. That woman is vile and I don't care 2 hoots about right or wrong when we are talking about her.

Bold: This is what I wanted to express. May be my words were too hard and it failed to convey what I wanted.

Couldnt even bother reading the entire thing because holy hell. SLAPPING IS VIOLENCE. PERIOD. I hope people here revaluate their values because clearly to justify fiction they have lost track of reality. Any kind of physical beating is VIOLENCE. And its not okay,PERIOD. You can be angry, you can be anything but unless and until someone is harming you physically you can't harm them back. Slapping can be used for harassment, thats self defence. Other than that? Its disgusting. Don't justify it in the name of fiction.

* " World Health Organization's definition of violence as "the intentional use of physical force or power, threatened or actual, against oneself, another person, or against a group or community, which either results in or has a high likelihood of resulting in injury, death, psychological harm, maldevelopment, or deprivation."
