see i know where you are coming from and why you are evaluating both the show's and it's Characters. But trust me i did a lot of research, some of it was helped by Cookie herself, and then Karan himself said only the base remained the same everything else has changed even the Characters especially his. So if his character had just taken salt and pepper hair and the name, then why even evaluate him with the previous Bajaj.
