Malhar has issues expressing his feelings. Given his situation, I think he was really hurt that AS lodged that complaint. Cause as the audience, we are aware of the Ranes' deeds but Malhar is unaware. And from Malhar's POV, the domestic abuse complaint against his family is unwarranted cause he didn't think they did anything.

He was I think pretty sure that Mai's electrocution was an accident but turned out he was wrong. Now he'll feel really guilty.
