4 seasons matlab around 150 episodes toh hoga hi childhood track. But trust me, it's not worth ur time. It was all about bechari maa, spineless baap, cruel dadi putting all the torture on 8-9 year old kid and the kid being super woman and coming out of it with all the strength. U can't believe 9 year old can do this... something like filing a legal case n all!!! So that was too much. And u can't see a child going through so much emotional and physical torture everyday. No doubt some of the scenes were good and arsheen played Avni really well for her age. But EOD, that much negativity is not good for your mental health.
And it's not really relevant for watching post leap episodes. Even I watched childhood Avni out of curiosity only after I got hooked to post leap episodes.
The plot is Avni is an illegitimate daughter of Ashish Mehta and Ayesha haidar. Ashish was a film director and Ayesha his heroine and they fell in love, had a live in relationship, Avni was born out of it, but spineless fellow didn't have guts to tell his mother dayawanti Mehta about this relationship for 10 long years. Daya was a kattar gujju lady who was wronged by some Muslims it seems, so held prejudice against Muslims and wouldn't accept Ayesha. She has her business empire which she built from scratch since her young days. So Ashish's family is his secret world, staying with ayesha's mother called nanno and hence he doesn't turn up at any social events as Avni's father and that hurts Avni and she has a question why she doesn't have a normal family like her friends. She has a cute bff called Ali who is with her in her good and bad times and all her adventures. Meanwhile, Daya fixes Ashish's alliance with neela, her mentor's daughter and is obliged to keep her words because he had favoured her with all his help and guidance in her initial days. She forces Ashish to get married to neela, but she learns about Ayesha n Avni. Yet she keeps this a secret from neela and tortures Avni n ayehsa so that they leave Ashish. Neela becomes friends with little Avni without knowing that she's her fiancé daughter. Later Avni ayesha and neela learn the truth about eachother and neela decides to back off from the wedding. But itv style, her dad suffers heart attack on her wedding day and she has to get married out of his emotional blackmailing. He is a good man, he doesn't know about Avni ayesha yet. So avni's trust in neela is broken. In a few days, Daya bumps off Ayesha when Ayesha gives a birth to baby boy but she can't survive. Daya brings the baby boy home because he's Ghar Ka Chirag n all. Avni accompanies him too. Daya continues her torture on Avni and neela keeps secretly helping her and winning her trust back. Ashish becomes bevda after ayesha's death and can't take care of his kids. Neela takes the charge and becomes a mother figure for little Avni. Later Avni gets clues that daya has killed her mother and in order to save herself, Daya shoots Avni and that's where the season ends.
