Runa Laila singing that song on TV and that too in Black and White is what I remember whenever that song plays or is performed.
I think Akshaya was a contestant in Sangeet Samrat 3 years back (judged by Deshpande/Shinde) There is a small clip on YT. However that clip is not impressive. That is what Shinde meant when he said that he had heard her 3 years back but has now improved tremendously in these years.

She has her own YT channel-
SINGING SUPERSTAR - LITTLE WONDERS is won by Akshaya iyer previously on probably some Hindi channel. She is far ahead of others in this competition. Yesterday's episode was best in this season so far and without making any fuss about who won the katyar for the week they handed it to AI while she hasn't finished the song !
