I guess the reason Naren preferred Raima was not because she was rich. I don't think Raima has enough money as Sona does coz Sona would have earned really well in the last 3-4 years since she is the lead of the top TRP grossing show and she has also her endorsements to boot. Raima unlike Sona is well educated and her upbringing has been sophisticated. Any family that prefers to maintain a low key profile will prefer Raima over Sona any day. It sounds fancy to say ur bahu is the country's most loved bahu but honestly in real life it doesn't work that way. Given how classy Sippys are they wouldn't want to associate themselves with someone like Suman who will embarrass them before their own circle. Majority of the Sippys have learnt to ignore Suman because they love Sona and they know she is a nice girl. But they do cringe when Suman behaves in a typical downmarket fashion. Sona has earned well through the years but it still can't match up to what the Sippy's have as they're khaandani rich, have multiple businesses and have multiple people earning in the family. Sona is the sole earner in her family, plus she has to take care of all expenses including Pari's splurges, Pulkit's education and so on, so there is bound to be a difference. She would have been able to match up to the Sippys if she was a portrayed a top movie actress, someone like PC.

Even PC can't match the standards of Sippys. If the actor has side business then may be he or she can match the standards of business families.
