The person who is in contact with Paridhi was surprised that Aniruddh would quit. That person said its because despite being the leads, they were sidelined which is why they quit.
I am guessing at this point both were unhappy with their character, and with no scope to perform with their character, they didn't want to continue with the leap, so they voiced that to KK. KK decided to ax their character all together.
