Maan is not able to accept the fact that his misty is no more. Waiting to find out how Yash knows Geet or Anju.

So Yash knew Anju 10 years back. And according to him Anju could not have been a doctor. Now Maan has to find out who is the real kavyanjali is.

CHAPTER 10

Location: Private Suite in St. Micheals Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) Baltimore, US (FICTITIOUS NAME AND PLACE)

Kavyanjali entered the room with Ram and Priya. The beautiful child like girl in her late twenties named “ANNIE” turned hearing her footsteps who was sitting brushing her doll’s hair. “Geet didi aa gayi, meri Geet didi aa gayi.” (Geet didi has come, my Geet didi has come.) Annie cried in excitement kissing Kavyanjali all over her face.

“Haan Gudiya, teri Geet didi aa gayi.” (Yes my sweetiepie your Geet didi has come.) Anjali said hugging the fraile and exhuberant girl. Once Annie had calmed down while Kavyanjali was caressing her head, Kavyanjali took Annie’s dinner from the nurse and fed her. Kavyanjali has been coming and spending time with Annie during her days off from work since she had heard Annie’s painful story from Ram and Priya. Once Ram and Priya told Kavyanjali about Annie’s physical and emotional health, Kavyanjali could not stop herself from coming and talking to Annie’s doctors regularly. Once Annie was calm, Kavyanjali broached the topic, “Gudiya, didi ko thode din ke liye shayad bahaar jaana ho. Iss liye Annie ko apna dhyaan rakhna hoga aur Nurse Graham ko tang matt karna.” (Gudiya, Didi has to go for few days out of the country. Therefore, Annie has to take care of herself and listen to Nurse Graham.)

“Didi, Annie ko bhi aapke saath jaana hai.” (Annie also wants to go with you Didi.)

“Annie baccha, Didi ko kaam ke liye shayad India jaana hai aur Didi bahut busy hogi aur Annie.........” (My darling Annie, Didi will be extremely busy in work in India and you will.......) Anjali tried saying calmly.

“INDIA. NAHI GEET DIDI INDIA NAHI JAAYEGI. MOM....DAD......I...I....INDIA MEIN.......ANNIE....G...G...GEET D....D...DIDI...KO....I...I....INDIA...N......N....NAHI J...J....JA.......ANE..........” (INDIA. No Annie will not let Geet didi go to India. MOM....DAD......I...IN....I...I...INDIA.....ANNIE....

W....W...WILL....N...N....NOT.....L...LET.....G...G...GEET D....D...DIDI...GO....T..T...TO...I...I....INDIA.......) Annie started getting agitated and throwing things leading to her becoming hysterical. Kavyanjali, Ram, Priya and nurse tried to quieten Annie down but when Annie was not calming but becoming more aggressive, on a reflex without rational thought Kavyanjali gave one tight slap to Annie shocking Ram, Priya and the nurse. But quietening down Annie instantly. Then Kavyanjali gathered Annie in her embrace and sat with Annie on her (Kavyanjali’s) lap on the rocking chair present. Slowly although still hiccuping Annie started to fall asleep by sucking her thumb and the rocking action of the chair. By now doctors had arrived and took Annie from Kavyanjali’s lap. Nurse Elizabeth Graham was assisting the doctors while Anjali, Ram and Priya quitely left the room. Next evening Anjali left for New York once Annie was calm and relaxed. A week later Anjali moved from Little Angels Hospital (LAH) for Baltimore. Anjali had wanted to go to India and get experience in field of Gynaecology and Obstetrics before completing her residency in field of “Oncology pertaining to Gynaecology and Obstetrics”. But seeing Annie’s hysterical display decided to postpone her India job and pre-pone her post graduation.

Kavyanjali moved to Baltimore to finish her Residency in “Oncology in Gynaecology and Obstetrics”. When Kavyanajali was offered a seat in one of the Medical Colleges in Oncology (Cancer) in Baltimore which was famous all over the world, for its excellence in field of cancer research, Anjali was in two minds but Annie being in Baltimore made the decision for Anjali. Anjali’s schedule was very hectic as last few weeks before Anjali’s leaving Little Angels Hospital (LAH) there was all piled up reports to submit besides her daily hospital duties. But after a month of joining Anjali was free one weekend and her thoughts went back to.........

When her Chote Papa and Choti Maa had requested Anjali to come and meet a defenceless and sick girl, “Annie”, Anjali was extremely wary of the unknown stranger. But when Anjali saw the beautiful child like girl in her late twenties named “ANNIE”, she suddenly felt protective about her as if Kavyanjali is Annie’s mother. Then Ram and Priya explained Annie’s story. The child like girl, Annie came from a very rich family but her parents were killed in a car accident and now Annie was an orphan. Then Annie’s greedy relatives wanted her property therefore tried to kill her as well. As both Kavyanjali and Annie were admitted in the same hospital, Ram and Priya saw an orphan, helpless and dependant girl struggling with her lack of memory and poor mental health and decided to help her. They moved Annie from a New York Hospital to St. Micheals Psychiatric Hospital (SMPH) in Baltimore for her safety and security.

“Choti Maa, kintu woh hummein “Geet Didi” kyun samajhti hai?” (But why does Annie consider me as her “Geet Didi”?)

“Kyunki beta, Geet ne Annie ko ek baar uske swarthi aur haivaan rishtedaaron se bachaya thaa. Tumhari aur Geet ki shaqal milti hain kyunki tum dono judwaan beihane hone iss liye......” (Because once Geet had saved Annie from her greedy and lecherous relatives. As you are twins, both Geet and your face resembles hence....)

“Kintu Annie ki shaqal bhi toh......” (But Annie’s face is also......)

“Sir and Ma’am, visiting time is over.” Matron came and firmly ordered the three to leave.

Anjali thoughts also went towards Dr. Maan Singh Khurana. Why do I feel I know Dr. Khurana from before? If it was only my “twin” response to him as I’m Geet didi’s twin why do I feel as if my body is on fire with electric currents coarsing through my veins every time intentionally or unintentionally Dr. Khurana touches me.

Also Dr. Khurana’s acquaintence, Yash Khanna who professed to know me by calling me “Anju”. “WHO IS ANJU?” That strange man Yash’s touch irritates me as well as annoys me at his impertinance to get close to me but his touch did not set my soul on fire like Dr. Khurana’s touch does? Why do I have a feeling that Dr. Khurana has a right on me and my soul. WHY??

Location: Penthouse, Royal Towers, New York (FICTITIOUS NAME AND PLACE)

Maan and Yash were in their deep thoughts waiting for a meeting with Private Detective, Samrat Khandelwal (Sam).

“Bhai, kya hum theek kar rahe hain ek Detective ko apni personal life mein involve kar ke?” (Bhai, are we right in involving a stranger into our personal lives?)

“Yash tumne aur maine apni taraf se bahut koshish ki Meri Mishty aur tumhari Anju ko dhoondhane ki. Magar jo Kavyanjali ki chitti mein likha thaa usse zyaada hum kuch nahi dhoondh paaye. Yeh toh mera Good luck thaa ki New York Police Force ke ek senior officer mere patient the. Jiss kaaran hummein kamse kam yeh baat toh patta chali ki woh Kulbhushan Sharma, abhi bhi US ki security prison mein hai.” (Yash, you and I have left no stone unturned to find Your Anju and My Mishty. But we could not anything more than what Kavyanjali had written in her letter. It was sheer my good fortune that a senior officer in New York Police Force is my patient. Due to which we at least found that Kulbhushan Sharma, is still in US’s security prison.) Maan said firmly but then went back into his despondency saying, “Personal life aur privacy ke baare mein sochne se zyaada zaruri Yash, abhi yeh hai ki woh Dr. Kavyanjali kaun hai? Aur Geetanjali aur asli Kavyanjali ko kya hua hai? Kya woh dono beihane alive hain yaa.........” (More important than thinking about our personal life and privacy is,who is this Dr. Kavyanjali? Are the twins even alive or......)

“BHAIII.”

“Uss Kulbhushan ne dus saal pehle do masoom ladkiyon ko anaath bannaya thaa aur unki zindagi dabah kar di magar aur nahi. Kyunki abb Geet ek kunwari anaath nahi magar ek suhaagan hai yaani MAAN SINGH KHURANA KI PATNI. Aur yeh Maan Singh Khurana agar ek doctor bann kar logon ka dard kam kar sakta hai toh yeh ek dushman ko dabaah bhi kar sakta hai.” (That rascal Kulbhushan ten years back destroyed the peaceful and carefree life of two innocent girls. But no longer, as my Geet is no longer a helpless orphan. She is now my wife i.e. MAAN SINGH KHURANA’S WIFE. And if this Maan Singh Khurana can cure pain of his patient then he can destroy his enemy’s life as well!) Maan said with anger and arrogance.

Just then the doorbell rang and a handsome man in late thirties and early forties entered.
