The girl isnt as dark as she is painted . N i do agree they could hv selected actual dark girl for the show.

no, budget is not d problem,problem in marathi industry is unfortunately less salable faces on big scren

almost all others rather choose small screen or web series or plays.and if small tv is chosen,due to overexposure and time ,many directors and producers r not ready to take them.moreover sorry to say,bt maby of d marathi actresses except few, r not fittness freak,there r very few,some have specific images due to their small screen hits like janhavi,isha,meghana ,all goody goody bahus and heroins which producersmay find it difficult to cast them in such noncoventional roles.

i guess this can b d reason and offcourse cant forget favourism,groupism r d main issues as prasad oak is d director.had it been sanjay jadhav,sai tamhankar would have been d heroine.

I was thinking the woman who played the mother in naal, is a very capable actor. But then again as you mentioned, they want sure shot profit, so they'll onboard a glam heroine. But that is exactly what my problem is. If glam heroine or crowd pullers were the only formula to a block buster, sairat wouldn't have made it, or even naal for that matter. It is high time producers realise this.

naal and sairat r zee's movies.only viacom and zee movies to some extent sustain in this marathi industry,now see, why hirakani is much hyped,i m not saying it will b a bad movie ,bt see whose name is associated with it,none otger than rajesh mapuskar, persnality from bollywood,so the movie itself becomes talk of d town.

For me, honestly the content matters. If I like what I see, I'll watch the movie. Also, I don't know who mr. Mapuskar is, as much as I know who Sonali Kulkarni is. And there are many movie goers like me, who don't care about the backstage team, as far as they have a treat for their eyes. So Sonali, or any lead for that matter, is the selling point of the movie for the mass majority.

So true. The film was so unassuming and low key. I was not too interested in it and initially just scanned it but then got fascinated and watched the full movie. That lady and that kid were really good.
