You know when ekta said this is a story about two soulmates or lovers who can never be one but will go on living for each other they really have a way of showing that example in the show? Well the only defense I can give is because there was no komolika the track drag on longer than usual as basu has no story outside of komolika and prerna.

However I love the movie titanic. It's on my list of top movies to rewatch. Titanic showcased a really great love story between the two leads. I guess you can call them even soulmates. However when the male character knew he was going to die he told the female lead to move on in life and have children and make stories and be happy. That's exactly what she did. She lived for the man she loved. She got married again, did all the things she wanted to in life and lived a fulfilled marriage never forgetting the man she truly loved.
