Here are the good points....
With all the flashbacks and lovey dovey scenes between the two it foreshadows something big about to come as we all know what. So they are showing as much between the two for when the storm comes.
Ankie point out the necklace breaking is a symbolism. Which I haven't even thought about but makes sense.
Bajaj in all of this is made to be the sympathizer for audience. Take note of how they show his hurt face whenever his wife is doing the things she should be doing with him with someone else.
