some modern make liquid sindoor or things as kumkum use it as bindi n fill it on mang

OK it mean both are auspicious but just different in content. My Maa said that sindoor is not used by married girls on hair partition. It was kumkum. Sindoor is also used on Hanuman ji body. But I heard many married girl talking about sindoor in their maang not kumkum. And I heard many times Kumkum for tilak on god idol.

From where I am from both r same thing.

I guess it all depends on places. Different places different meanings.
