Babita has never been a wife and she doesn’t know how to be one. I think she’s afraid of her own incompetency when it comes to this relationship but you’ll never know until you try.

Yes, and HS also resents that she's afraid to be alone with him, as though he were some disease or predator.

Minnie has already done SO much for her, now it's Babes' turn to do something for herself. Minnie can't live her life for her, especially not her marriage. It's not right or fair to her.

I am glad that Minnie is starting to feel tired, that it's starting to bother her because she will have to be the one to break away. It doesn't look like Babita is going to give her any space of her own accord. Beech mein HS ka dimaag kharaab hoga. He has always fought with Babita over parenting Minnie, and despite what happened today, that was exactly what they were doing! Fighting over Minnie as co-parents.

Exactly! Ash has done such a good job of displaying just how tired Minnie has become. She’s so much quieter than before, she’s more hesitant to speak up and she lets the couple hash it out without her need to fix or interfere. She’s so absolutely done. She’s done her part. They’re the adults and they have to figure out how to make their own relationship work first. Integrating Minnie can only work if they’ve fixed or are working on their own issues.

Totally. It's also as if the fight's gone out of her. She felt that she'd handed her mother over to someone who could offload her but this isn't happening, unfortunately.

And now this whole honeymoon thing was just another level of unbelievable. Just be a good friend first. Then work your way up to building that complete trust, faith, love, ya jo bhi.

I think this is what he might explain to her, that she needs to just relax and go with the flow instead of obsessing over what may or may not happen.

HS is more than willing to take away Babes' responsibility from Minnie but it's Babes who's being a tad bit obsessive about her daughter. 🤔 If she keeps running away from HS, then there's not much that he can do except get mad at her like he did today. At the end of the day, Babes herself has to be willing to share her worries and complaints with HS rather than take them to Minnie.

It sucks that Minnie can't take her worries to Babita, but Babes has shown that she doesn't have the maturity to handle the situations aptly. It's HS who can guide her, and help her out. Even though they're having their own issue, HS knows that Minnie needs to create an identity outside of Babes. It was evident today when he pointed out that she still has a whole life ahead of her that she needs to live. But Minnie can't do that if Babita keeps suffocating her.

@bold

This is the crux of the problem. Everyone except Babita is seeing this.

I felt really bad for Minnie and him when he had to spell out to Babita that Minnie had her own things to do and think about.

Or the way Babita had to be told about the embarrassment that Minnie is feeling when her own mother is telling her to come along with her on her honeymoon. I mean... yikes!

I know Babita is hiding, but to any outsider, it just looks so wrong for so many different reasons.

The fact that he as a man (who has only known Minnie a few months) has to think about the embarrassment she would feel as a girl, which her own mother as a woman doesn't notice.... very frustrating. Even after HS walks out in anger, Babita is sulking instead of trying to understand that she pissed him off.

I don't know what to say. Minnie can't and shouldn't always be the one to come and explain things to her.

Yup because unlike Babita he can see the warning signs of Minnie’s emphasis in their life. He can’t resent the child that is basically the reason he now has a family, but him trying to hammer Babita into understanding today was much needed. Especially when he breaks down that it’s completely her fault that this issue is happening. I don’t get annoyed with the way Babita speaks to Hanuman because I know her naivety feeds into that but the way Minnie had to speak to Babita, her mother, was too much for me today. Babita was at the height of childishness and Minnie was mothering her as if trying to wisen her mother up to a relationship her mother should already know more about than Minnie. This isn’t a relationship of equals. At the end of the day Babita is still Minnie’s mother but even Preet has shown more emotional maturity than Babita has. It’s hard for me to see a child have to mother her mother because Babita lacks the emotional intelligence to understand her own situation. Minnie can’t tell her mother about how to be a wife, she’s never had that experience! At this rate she’s gonna break sooner than later.

And frustrating!!! Like we are well aware she doesn’t know what a husband wife relationship requires but your child isn’t your shield. Minnie’s job isn’t to protect Babita’s feelings and she’s done a good job in the past of calling out Babita’s hypocrisy. Minnie really needs to take a step back and say ‘this is your issue not mine’.

Minnie not only can't tell her mother, she can't see things from Babita's point of view 100% because she is the position of the daughter, whereas Babita is the wife.

I don't know what the trigger is going to be for her breakdown but I wonder if it will be something Babita does or says, or if Minnie one day gets fed up and fights with Babita, spills out all that's in her heart and leaves the haveli.
