In Draco's defense, he isn't evil. He is just mean and has superiority complex . He was forced to kill Dumbledore (Dd) but professor Snape came to the rescue under the orders of Dd. Because Dd believed that Draco's not totally malice and he was going to die anyway and why not at the hands of his most trust worthy pupil, Severus Snape.
