I don't think it is true. Even if it is i don't think he wud be finalised. There shud be a considerable age gap between the leads which is not the case here. Ranveer is only in his early 30s not 50s like SLB need or will he turn him into one??

Recently Spotboye which used to be a reliable site started giving false made up cooked up stories! It also made up Shantanu Nityami faking their relationship. It started becoming Telechakkar for some reasons.

It was mentioned recently that he was changing the script OR would choose a totally different project. SLB will never work with Salman again; it was doomed from the very beginning so he still needs to find a ML for his next. Apart from Ranveer, Ranbir (and that’s borderline) and Hrithik, I don’t see many male leads around that fit his ideal macho/alpha hero while being able to carry his huge budgets.
