The Tuesday Number Spells Out Success Of Saaho

The Tuesday numbers for Saaho (Hindi) pretty much spells out the success of the film. The film has recorded the third highest Tuesday this year and is only behind Kabir Singh and Uri - The Surgical Strike. If we factor in there is a limited South release then the collections would go even higher. If the film had a normal Hindi film release it would have crossed 10 crore nett on Tuesday.

It has a better Tuesday than all the Hindi big cast films of 2019 and without a South release. The two above it Kabir Singh and Uri - The Surgical are not really cast films. The numbers in mass circuits are great but even if we look at tha big circuits on Tuesday then they have also done very well. Mumbai at 2.75 crore nett, Delhi / UP at 2.37 crore nett and East Punjab at 83 lakhs nett are very strong numbers,. These three between them are almost 6 crore nett which is excellent.

The collections in single screens are the best of 2019 by a margin beating likes of Bharat and Kabir Singh. Most other successful Hindi films have average numbers in single screens. Its another wake up call to the Hindi film industry as to what is cinema. This film is a primarily a Telugu film so the connect is always going to be less with the Hindi audience but the numbers are coming in a big way as this is what cinema is supposed to be and our audiences are starved of real cinema. There has been an attempt to make big cinema which sadly has been bashed by the media and trade but the audiences in the Hindi film markets have been much kinder. The fact that an average Telugu film is going cross most of the Hindi films released this year is embarrassing to say the least.

The way the film is going it looks like its going to finish around 20% less than 2.0 (Hindi) and that is an huge achievement for this film as in terms of face value for Hindi markets and even budget that film was at another level to Saaho. The top Tuesdays for Hindi films this year are as follows.

Saaho All India Update

Saaho has seen a drop in collections at an all India level as only the Hindi version does well. The contribution of the Hindi version is more than 50% now. The film has only done well in the bigger cities in South while it is the opposite in the Hindi circuits as its places like Bihar and Odisha which are near record levels.

Hyderabad has seen the best collections in South and the theatres in this city are not far below the collections of Bahubali - The Conclusion but most of the rest of Andhra Pradesh is not even half of Bahubali - The Conclusion. Its a similar situation in Mysore / Karnataka where Bangalore is good but the rest have not collected well.

The film collected around 16 crore nett on Tuesday taking its numbers to 237 crore nett in five days. It will comfortably cross the 300 crore nett mark but a higher contribution would have been expected from South. The all India collections of Saaho for the weekend are as follows.

I'd say the degrading for the movie is too much.the movie is not as bad as the reviews are portraying.

The twists are quite good and it was an engaging one time watch.(I went knowing almost the whole story and twists (thanks to the reviews)still the movie was paisa vasool for me.

Not saying the movie is flawless..it had many.but still it's not a disaster as it's made out to be.

And prabhas. What a performance 👏. What a screen presence!

He is the one who makes you sit through 3 hrs of the movie and ignore the illogical plotholes.

Cons:1.the love story .too shallow.especially from shraddha character side.and shraddha ruined the significant scenes in the love story by underemoting or going blank

2.songs ..boring .only psycho saiyan and baby wont you tell me were needed for the narrative.

3.all those lengthy action scenes(I'm not a big action fan.so my personal pov.)

Saaho All India First Wednesday - Struggles In South

The Hindi version of Saaho may have scored but its a sorry scenario in the South as the collections are falling very fast. The domestic market is hardy collecting for the film now as figures in Nizam / Andra were down to 2.50 crore nett on Thursday. The way its going it will be not be long before the collections in Delhi / UP will be more than Nizam / Andhra on a daily basis which is crazy.

The film collected 10.50 crore nett apprx across India on Thursday and the total is 247.50 crore nett and we can take at least 30 crore nett from here on a worst case scenario for the Hindi version but the question will be that will South be able to cover the rest for the film to cross the 300 crore nett or is it a must for the Hindi version to cover 40 crore nett from here for a 300 crore nett plus final total. The all India collections of Saaho till date are as follows.

couldn’t survive even 6 days at south India, Wednesday nett Collection in AP/TL, TN, Kerela & KN is merely ₹ 3 cr nett. All India Wednesday biz is - ₹ 5 cr Hindi, 3 cr south= ₹ 8 cr nett. Next week biz in South would be DISASTROUS.

Saaho Has Very Good First Week Collections

Saaho (Hindi) recorded very good first week numbers of 115 crore nett which are the fourth best of 2019 after Bharat, Kabir Singh and Mission Mangal. The opened to very strong collections and held up very well over the weekdays. The Monday collections got a boost due to Ganesh Chaturthi. As the film is a Telugu film primarily the release of the film is not like a normal Hindi film as the South circuits hardly have the Hindi version being screened. If it was a normal Hindi film then the collections would probably have been 7-8% higher.

The film has done good numbers across all Hindi circuits with Bihar and Odisha beating Bharat and having the best first week collections of the year. Mumbai circuit is around 36 crore nett while Delhi / UP is 27 crore nett. East Punjab is also excellent with 12 crore nett. The film ended the week with 6.50 crore nett on Thursday which is very good and the second Friday should confirm the HIT status film of the film. The collections of Saaho (Hindi) till date are as follows.

Chhichhore First Day Estimate - Saaho Is A Hit

Chhichhore will have collections in the 6.75-7 crore nett range and has picked up post 6pm. The morning collections were dull but it gained some decent momentum in the evening. The initial is problem for practically every other Hindi film as without holidays the collections are generally a disappointing.

This film has reasonable costs so a good jump on Saturday will put its on the way towards success and it will be about the weekdays if the film can go anywhere. The opening day collections are very similar to the heroes last film Kedarnath though this film has jumped more in the evening which should mean better weekend growth.

Saaho (Hindi) saw the first real noticeable drop on its second Friday if we discount the rain affect in the first week but being an action film and on top from the South this was always likely as big multiplexes which have higher ticket rates felt the heat. The drop is around 45% from Thursday and collections should be around 3.50 crore nett and this is good enough for the film to be a HIT as it is certain to go above the 140 crore nett mark and might even hit 150 crore nett. The film is going to do similar business to big Hindi films like Super 30, Total Dhamaal and Kesari and without 10% of the market. The footfalls are crossing these films for sure.
