Yes it took Payal going far away out of his reach to make him realise that for him, his true love was Payal and no other. The dark beauty had stolen his heart and made him her slave though he realised this much later. If Only.......

Meeting Pahal would have been like a great shock for him. His Payal leaving him and finding love elsewhere and having a child with her love

Yes Viraj and Shyam are professional aspects of Arnav's life hence when it comes to them, Arnav is more protective and goes into a shell. What if after she joins office, Khushi tries to dig up and gets some dirt on Shyraj and confronts Arnav with it and Arnav cannot digest it and fights with Khushi over it? My thoughts are far fetched.

N said that it is something more that Akashi news that will hurt and distance Arnav from Khushi

So it could be something related to Politics

Or it could be the real reason for which Khushi married Arnav despite loving Akash. Even after being forced by Garima and requested by Manohar, she could have still refused to marry Arnav if her love for Akash was all consuming and a true love. She had some other motive to marry Arnav and we have not been made aware of this by N. Already Khushi feels the need to bring Shashi's killers to justice

I feel that she had some other reason to marry Arnav, though now that reason may feel insignificant to her , as she has fallen or falling for her hubby

Child was adopted cos Payal couldnt conceive, thanks to him.

Anyway, I think, Akash's guilt was much bigger than Payal's love, in the end.
