I chanced upon the show randomly browsing the channels one day. It was the episode in which Varsha learns that Kuhu loves Kunal. At that time I didn't know how important a character Kuhu is to the story.
We do share a somewhat similar opinion about the first episode :) I had instantly felt a connect to the banter of the two sisters. I also loved how Kaveri had this spontenity about her acting.
Wouldn't have thought that Kuhu's crush on Kunal from that day would take such a horrible turn and it would literally become a life altering moment for her.
Oh my Mum has been a regular viewer for long and I just happened to really like Mishit trying to confess to Abir on the phone with her, "Painting se badi tasveer... Sabse bada pyaar" and found them really adorable. So I started watching then. Since I was technically only watching for Mishti and Abir, I wasn't actually planning on liking anybody else but Kuhu has that charm ;)
Kaveri is great as Kuhu! I had watched very rabdom episodes but all of them were enough to realise the storyline, the day Meenu swaped the rishta, the time Mishti was made to apologize and Meenakshi's insult before that and the sangeet episodes so I never actually had any shock value :/
The sweetest part related to that incident? Kuhu actually felt guilty that she had gone overboard in expressing her anger towards Mishti by saying something nasty about her parents and wanted to make it up to her sister by baking a cake for her (even though she didn't know how to bake a cake
)
Look at the subtle and telling contrast that when publically Mishti called Kuhu illegitimate and thus raised questions over her parentage, Kuhu didn't so much as say a word to Mishti about it. I mean there were a 100 times when Kuhu was insensitive towards Mishti, this was one time when Kuhu had a legit reason to be insensitive towards her sister but she didn't even bring up the topic. Can we happily assume that deep down Kuhu knows Mishti would not have done something like this, that Mishti would have never spoken about her like that.
I know right! Plus the cake is a little bit representational to their relationship. They look good from the outside, everybody can see the love it is made with, there are genuine efforts put into making but it is a little salty. Let me go #deepthought here😆
Oh if it is true, this is such a beautiful idea. Kuhu does know Mishti despite everything. If not for Kunal telling her that Mishti was only trying to be friends for a superior motive, maybe these two would have become the best of friends over the 10 days that lead to the marriage.
I remember during the time when Kuhu and Kunal's rishta was getting fixed, I read a comment on Twitter saying that Kuhu probably only 'loves' Kunal because he is rich. Would be safe to say that Kuhu in that sense has grown up. As a wife she would be seeking Kunal's love, respect and companionship.
I keep getting back to that scene with Shweta. That daimond bracelet was Kuhu's prized possession, yet she had given it to Shweta in an instant saying that it doesn't matter for her, what only matters for her is Kunal. I know making tall claims is one thing and fulfilling those is another but that scene I believe was shown to highlight that Kuhu would love Kunal regardless of his financial status.
Anyhoo, I loved that scene because it showed how self-assured and badass Kuhu could be when she wants to be. That telling glare she gives Kunal after saying "Main tumhara intezaar kar rahi hoon" was lit and held so much meaning .
Kuhu might have noticed him because of the car but over time, she knew what she wanted from the relationship, love and a companion for her life. I know, her giving Shweta the bracelet was so meaningful.
Haha, I remember. She didn't want any explanation, just come back and continue with the rasam. Would love it if she gives him back the same way now that he has told her the truth.
If I can be honest I never found Kunal's "I am feeling bad for what am doing" convincing. I just didn't find him being earnest whenever he said so except for the hotel room scene after he runs away.
He did manage to convince me because he has to have some redeeming quality. Not liking feeling bad for her makes him good. He felt bad but he didn't act upon it. Let all those schemes play so it doesn't really matter if he felt guilty. It's done :/
First things first he deserves to be rejected by Kuhu. Then he can sit and willow in self-pity about how he got rejected by the one girl who had accepted him. #sorrynotsorry
Oh this is a very nice thought. Kuhu rejecting Kunal and deciding that she should rise above these petty games. I don't think they'll let it be like this. I imaging she'll have more begging to do tomorrow, trying to convince herself that Kunal is lying. I am afraid we have some abla Kuhu moments in store before she decided to go either way, support Meenakshi/Kunal's schemes or not.
I do not want anything as badly from the story right now as I want Kuhu to show the mirror to Kunal and give it to back to him nicely for all the bs that he has thrown at her.
I wish she realizes that it is not wrong to expect love from your husband but you shouldn't do it at the expense of your self-respect.
There are a lot of things she needs to learn. It is also realising who is actually going to be there for her and who isn't.
It never came to the fore on-screen like that but the fighter spirit Kuhu was shown to have made me believe that in a badass mode she can give a real hard time to both Meenakshi and Kunal. With Mishti it's like she has a certain set of morals and even in a fight she wouldn't want to cross certain lines, I don't think that is the case with Kuhu. Which why I feel even more than Mishti, Meenakshi should be wary of her "choti bahu"
Yes the sisters are different this way. Mishti has her moral compass that she dare not ignore but Kuhu is more of the, 'for the greater good' type. I am also convinced that if she decides, she can give it back to Meenakshi nicely but then she also is very scared of Meenakshi. :(
That's actually a fair point. Kuhu's "Tu kyun aayi yahan.." wasn't actually a "just get lost from here because I can't stand your face". She did not have problem with Mishti. She was concerned about how Kunal was behaving in Mishti's presence. I know in a similar situation Mishti would have definitely prioritized her sister's presence more than how her husband is reacting but this was also a rare occasion when Kuhu was not asking Mishti to go because she wanted Mishti to go. She was asking Mishti to go because she was made to feel like Mishti should be asked to go.
That day when Kuhu actually prioritizes her sister over her hashtag hubby would be a remarkable day in the history of YRHPK.
Exactly, Kuhu has conditioned herself to think that way. It's not only her fault, her entire family does whatever Meenakshi/Kunal was asking of them because they keep believing that being ladkiwale makes their wishes a little less important. And when her mother-in-law and husband are clearly anti-Mishti, she's trying to be that way too.
I know, she needs to know that #SistersOfTheyYear is more mraningful than her #HusbandOfTheYear. Waiting for her to throw one of these hashtags in Kunal's face -.-
That was a very important scene I daresay. The mere gesture that Kunal was standing right there and Mishti was standing distantly and Kuhu didn't have to be pushed or urged by her family members to go and meet Mishti, made me feel so relieved. Even Abir got emosh seeing the two sisters :')
I know. Abir is us, praying that they find the love they were pretending to rpetend all along.
I know the fandom is pretty kicked about the fact that now that Kuhu is married that room of Kuhu and Mishti would be a great place for Abir and Mishti to secretly meet and romance, but seeing Mishti sit alone in the room in the precap actually made me feel a bit sad :(
Aww! That is also a very sweet point. I have been pretty pumped about the opportunities of romance too but would dearly miss Kuhu.
That room belonged to Kuhu and Mishti 🤧 I remember in earlier episodes there would be random moments when Kuhu would just go and hold her sister from behind, just like how friends or sisters do out of love and affection (and here these two believed that they simply don't get along and yet they had shared such endearing moments together 🤧)
That one scene where Kuhu was not able to see Mishti sad so she went and brought her favourite ice cream and then acted to eat it just to spite Mishti so that Mishti takes it, maybe argues but stops mulling around. It was so beautiful and I wouldn't mind this idea becoming the basis of all her future actions.
Haha :D Kuhu actually shipping MishBir and going on to tell her sister that there is no better guy that she or any girl in the world for that matter could find would be so endearing to watch.
I want such moments between them. Just beibg sisters. I only have a younger brother but I do share a pretty amazing bond with my cousins. Sleeping in the same bed however old we grow and then gossiping late into the night about anything and everything. Who got proposed, who dated, who fought with a friend, those are things sisters do, along with fashion advice and stuff that Mishti and Kuhu already share. So the bond is there, just needs little more digging. They need to forget their respective partners and keep giggling into the night, just such stupid sisters stuff because oh would that be amazing.
They have some of those things, lying to the family to save the other (when Kuhu told everyone she was going for the reunion and ended up in Champaner), or that fake cat fight to distract the goons. Kuhu was upset with all those things Mishti said and it wss so cute to watch.
Yes writing wise there is much to be imparted to her character. Even though we can't really say they have done a bad job at it. Far from it actually.
Her character is nicely written. She is not a good person but she is a person and consistent too.
In our tv shows MLs are given infinite opportunities to "redeem" themselves after they mistreat FLs, but a character like Kuhu is actually judged to the point that some of the people that believe she deserves the shit that is happening in her life right now. That is what really ticks me off.
True. She did call it upon herself and cannot blame anybody else but nobody deserveds what she is going to experience. She's been super rude to her family too but it is all, hopefully, a part of her character having it's own arc.
I don't want Kuhu to be sympathized with. I wouldn't mind no one feeling bad for her because it is true that she brought this upon herself. But when I see people painting her as this "bad sister" who deserves this ill fate because of the way she always treated Mishti, it simply makes me feel angry.
If Kuhu deserves this then what do Meenakshi and Kunal deserve?!
Kuhu's mistakes are mostly not realising the worth if the people around her but that's okay. A lot of us fail to realise who is important and who isn't. We simply chose one person over the other based on who makes us happier. Kuhu truly believed Kunal will make her the happiest and so she just prioritized him. Now it's tine for her to realise the mistake and try to work in herself again, try to go back to what she was before Kunal but also a little bit better than that.
Meenakshi and Kunal however are only acting based on their notions and egos. So, yes, disliking them is valid. Their actions so far have had only one motive, putting Mishti down. Kuhu actually believed she was doing all this for love and fighting for love is a very good idea. Meenakshi and Kunal just thought Mishti isn't good enough for Abir because she rejected Kunal, whuch makes no sense🙄
Off topic if I may add, Abir is an absolute sweetheart and there is no doubting the nobility of his intentions but it's surprising that no one is talking about how he shouldn't have hidden it from Mishti that Kunal had run away from the house on the day of wedding. Especially when he had himself told Mishti that she should speak truth to him at all times, hiding something like this could pose a major problem. Nothing that Abir and Mishti can't discuss and overcome, but still...
These two have a lot of secrets and I guess this will be a point of argument when Kuhu and Kunal's relationship dynamic comes out in the open. They were so convinced that Kunal and Kuhu were perfect that they saw everything as a sign of love and when Kunal said the same, they easily believed it. They will probably both feel guilty of tying Kuhu in that relation too. I can't watch stressed ties between Abir and Mishti. That would definitely stress me out🤔
I love her too. And hence we should brace ourselves because it's going to be very important now how they shape her character. It can go either ways and am hoping her character would learn and evolve for the good 🤞
I truly hope they do her justice. There is so much to do and so many ways to do that. God, let them let Kuhu become the best version of herself possible.
Your ramblings are much appreciated my friend ;)
Hehe, thanks for entertaining my long texts! I love discussing this.
