Most loved movie of 2000s?

3 Idiots is considered the most loved movie of previous decade but Gadar had more footfalls and has also done well on television repeat viewings. So is 3 Idiots an overhyped film by media and internet which made it seem like the most loved movie of 2000s?

Yeah, Gaddar was a hit.. here are some other films that were talked about a lot when they released..

Kal Ho Na Ho ....I was little and everyone around me spoke about it, I remember a lot of people saying that they cried in the theater and most people in theater also cried :)

Dil Chahta Hai ....another film a lot of people around me loved, and people today regard it as a 'classic'.

Mohabbatein ...Although, I'm not sure if it was the film that was popular or the songs.. The songs though, were overplayed everywhere..

Swades ...another successful film that is loved even today

Taare Zameen Par ...everyone loved it, was praised to the skies.

I'm just writing here based on the buzz I felt for the films as a child.. :p

Dil Chahta Hai, 3 Idiots, and Chak De India

DCH, Chak De India & Kal Ho Naa Ho....movies that can still be watched and enjoyed.

Still 3 Idiots, Gadar is a classic definitely, and Sunny's dialogues and that epic handpump scenes are BW legacy. But the appeal of it's is kinda limited to Punjabi dominated areas, after a time, it didn't had same Pan India effect that 3 Idiots has. It is harsh to judge the footfalls of multiplex era movie by comparing it with pre-multiplex era movie.

3 Idiots even in the multiplex era ran for nearly 25 weeks in many theatres, a rare feat only Bahubaali has matched in Pan India level.

The reason 3 Idiots is still more relevant, because it is about educational pressure, a theme which is so rampant in the nation.

Just look at the repeat viewing it still has, 3 idiots is still a bloody popular movie, plus its impact on pop culture shouldn't be overlooked.

I don’t know if k3g holds up that well even for die hards. I loved the film when it first came and now other than kareena dancing scenes it all seems boring 👍🏼

Yes, 3 idiots is quite overrated. A decent watch but nothing breathtaking as people make it out to be. And it definitely doesn’t have a repeat value at least for me.
