Why are the 5 southern states and the eastern states always marginalized? How difficult is it to involve actors from these regions? Its these states which pay the most taxes and contribute the most in terms of the literacy and what not but when it comes to the rewards and representation, its like as if India is made of only North India! The recent NAs and now this...

By this logic, having ads of polio awareness etc. in Hindi is also a violation of taxpayers speaking other languages since they won’t be able to understand it.

The amount is small in terms of percentage of total taxes collected but it's still crores/lakhs of rupees. Anyway, small or big aside, is it right? Small wrong. But still wrong.

Polio ads are also available in other languages.

If it was made in a language understood by 8% of the population then 92% wouldn’t be able to get it. Surely you comprehend that chosing Hindi as the medium minimizes the gap between the people who can grasp it and those who can’t.

It's a myth spread by people with divisive mentality that half of India doesn't understand Hindi. I live in the South ..jiska example ye log hamesha dete hai..Have travelled to all southern states and every single person understands the language..Even the labour class who has always spoken vernacular language understands the language and is able to manage conversations

Those crores/ lakhs would already be in the budget of those organizations (CRPF in this case) to conduct marketing activities as they see fit. They chose to honor martyrs in a language that would reach maximum of their target audience i.e. the Indian population. So where the random argument of taxpayers getting robbed come from?

@bold: this is the issue. It is arbitrary. You cannot treat people as second class citizens just because they do not fall under majority.

And you very well know it is not just about the song. This is just a small part of the larger problem of Hindi imposition.

No one is being god-damn treated as a "second class citizen"- what an exaggeration of epic proportions to even claim that. How an organization chooses to spend its marketing budget to reach maximum number of people is and will continue to be arbitrary and can not be classified as "treating people as second class citizens". You are reacting as if the CRPF jawans refused to rescue people speaking other languages during a natural calamity.

And I am talking just about this song, because thats what the post is about and that is what you posted on as well. I am completely against other native language speakers being forced to learn Hindi, but that is not what is happening here. If you want to discuss that issue, then make another post to discuss it- this is regarding this particular song and thats it.

I agree about not including celebrities from other industries/regions. As I have said before, this government is too invested in BW. Instead of Ranbir and animals like Tiger and Rooster, they should taken some big names from South. Language is a trivial issue.
