They actually muddled the “mental illness”. The diagnoses didn’t match the symptoms. They reinforced hurtful stereotypes: psychosis being “caused” by poor parenting and of course, the mentally ill being violent and criminal. Not sure why anyone thinks she did any service to the mentally ill.
