Physical violence is applauded on Indian TV. Smack feats across the face is a given every few months. Doesn’t matter whether it’s Anu, Pre or Mohini it’s uncalled for and should never be tolerated.

A person’s character is more than one act. How they treat others is a direct projection and reflection of how they treat themselves.

Anu is an emotional mess trying to get answers from Pre. But she’s on a diff page wanting to alienate him so he can move on.

Why hasn’t she reflected about her own behavior when Anu had married Komo? Her pain and sense of betrayal from Anu after his promises? Why did she fight for her rights in spite of Anu’s betrayal when he married Komo?

Anu understands her, he realizes her majboori but wants her to come clean.

But Pre’s decided cruelty is the way to cut the chord. She may think she wants Anu out of her life but her heart is going to lead her wondering about Anu all the time. For a girl who lived her whole life following her heart she’s not going to change overnight simply bec she married someone who blackmailed her into it.

So far Anu as a hero has been an overall decent guy who treats people with respect. He needs to toughen up to take on the business adversaries. He doesn’t have to play underhanded dirty games to win Pre back in his life.

I wish they could justify this slap.. but they couldnt.. Prerna didnt say anything to deserve this slap..

For me it was a from typical man whose Ego got bruised because the woman he loved ditched him and marry someone else..

shout at her, be angry, cursed her but she doesnt deserves this slap.. physical abuse is a sign of weakness..

i cant believe some ppl r comparing the two situations.. unbelievable

I love the gestures post his harsh actions. Generally in the daily soaps, the hero or heroin leave with a swag after slapping without any regret or give some more bhashan. But here be it twisting her arm or slapping her, he realises his mistake the very next moment, he regrets it, says her sorry. End of the day, this matters to me. Be it any character in the show, intentions matter to me the most than any actions. I had said the same thing for nivi as well. She said all the wrong words to pre, but later she had told Anupam that prerna loves Anurag, then why she did this. I m in love with this belief they all have deep down their hearts that pre must have had some reason to take this decision. Actions r most of the time reactions only. So I don't judge any character by a slap. It's better to slap someone on their face rather than playing games behind their backs.

No pun, no sarcasm, straight opinion.

Later girls...

Bold - What an interesting opinion to have come out in this debate. And a popular one. Firstly, your hypothesis about how many men/women/people slap and walk away as if it's something to be proud of is wrong. In a lot of cases of domestic violence the partner is actually a pretty normal guy. People aren't evil. And the reason the partner commits the violence, is ALWAYS, the fact that he loses control. (I'm focusing on the men right now). Most people don't deliberately hit their partners. They do it because they lose control. And then most of them go ahead and apologize. However, a thing to ponder here is this: if it were another person. Someone more powerful, would Anurag have lost control like that? Hitting someone weaker than you is easy. Would he have lost it the same way if it were for someone else?

And it's a pattern emerging with him here. He slapped a drunk, inebriated Komolika who was at her most defenseless and weakest when he hit her. That time, too, he lost control. This time as well he's lost control.

Slapping a woman for whatever reason seems goddamn sick to me and I feel repulsed. I don't remember the last time I saw an actual slap on ITV, they always went close and stopped coz men had the goddamn gall to control themselves. Here, it's 🤮

Here comes a powet dynamic at play that hasn't been paid attention. The real person is revealed in anger.

Last time he lashed at Nivi when she questioned him about business in crisis & why she was not informed & Anu retorted that what special can you do that I couldn't with all information at hand & why not take charge now & show me. That was a clear sign of a man who couldn't take his own failures being thrown at him.
