Honestly, it's brilliant to release the movie on Diwali. Clashes always help the smaller film. They get a lot more attention than they would otherwise. Every time the bigger film gets talked about, the smaller one does too. Many people will root for the underdog and superstars anyway have a lot of haters. All the haters combine to support the other movie.

The budget would also be smaller so they don't have many worries. As it is, all the big holiday movies have been underperfoming so why not?
