A tv show where they highlight such sensitive issues- find me another?? you cant because most tv shows lose their good concept after 100-150 episodes and here is our show..Episode 466 that address issues like male casting couch and nepotism. I love that the camera never shied away to block our view of what was happening- nothing was implied it was all shown. That's why I love this show to bits. It made us uncomfortable so you could imagine how uncomfortable Sameer and Aditya would have been.
While many shows have portrayed work place harassment or bosses hitting on women, they have not done so to highlight the issues. They have done it for the drama quotient. Our show showed the reversal of gender roles. That yes there are women who take advantage of men and especially so in the film industry. It wasnt shown to up the drama quotient but to highlight what ordinary people go through- how tough the journey to stardom is.
And here the writers once again played a masterstroke by weaving together the narrative of nepotism in the film industry. Earlier too it was subtly hinted at when Naina had made the barsaat reference but in yesterday's episode it was stark and hard hitting. That star kids don't have to go through struggles and manage to get roles even if they are not talented. Here we have people like Sameer and Aditya who truly love their craft, are talented but do not get roles unless they pretty much are forced into a situation where they have to sell their bodies.
Honestly I am so proud of YUDKBH that I feel like going to every other show's forum and saying see what our show has managed to do. This is the best show and it deserves all the Trps it can get.
