Hey, so China's education is apparently less expensive than the private institutions in India to study MBBS; and Chinese government does give a lot of awesome scholarships.

I agree but now a days become a norm. If u don't get admissions here just go to China.

being a doctor is a big deal. especially in our families career of a doctor & engineer is encouraged the most. my mom was also very upset with me when i refused to study science in my higher secondary.

Is it still different prestige pursuing to study science in higher secondary than commerce or social study?

It's still is. Though now a days parents r becoming liberal but still taking up science is a big deal.
